I'm feeling better but I am still not able to vape like I used to. I have to do very low wattage and tiny hits spaced out otherwise I start coughing. I can't vape like this and be able to stay off the analogs.

I'm starting to wonder if the bronchitis was caused by vaping. I really hope not because this is the only way I can quit smoking. Perhaps its possible my body can't tolerate like most can, that sucks if it's true.

It does annoy me that I can't find any reliable information to why my body is reacting this way.

Please, if anyone on here has experienced this let me know. I feel like I'm the only one with this problem.

I used to have bronchitis every year. I haven't had it since I started vaping in September, almost a year now. I'm pretty sure that vaping doesn't contribute to getting bronchitis or I would have certainly contracted it by now.

Bronchitis takes a while to get rid of. I used to always have to go back for more meds before I could fully get rid of it. It got to be that if the doctor started to write the prescription for the Z-pack, I would tell him NOT THAT stuff! It would NEVER work until half way through the Second ten day pack I would have to go back to get prescribed. I think my body developed an immunity to that particular med. thinking back though, it never worked like it said it was supposed to.

Anyway, have you tried just holding the vape in your mouth for a bit then exhaling through your nose slowly?

ETA: It does take more than 10 days for the lungs to get back to fully functional after a bout with bronchitis.

Try mouth hits. Just take the vapor into your mouth, hold it a bit and then exhale through the nose. I was a pipe smoker many years ago and then started smoking cigarettes because they were more convenient. When I first started vaping, I inhaled like I did cigarettes, but have found I've started to use my PV like a pipe, only taking the vapor into my mouth.

Sometimes I cough when I inhale the vapor too much. I tend to just draw it in like a cigar and exhale through my nose, rarely inhaling vapor into my lungs. That is pretty much how I smoked analogs too. It might be worth a try to see if it improves your situation. I'm wondering if you're not having seasonal allergies, which we here in Southwest Ohio are famous for. We call Dayton "Sinus Valley."

Signal, I'm re-reading your OP and doing a little more reading comprehension. ;)

Ok, the reason that the vapor is harder on your lungs than cigarette smoke is because smoke contains smaller particles than vapor. Once your lungs are back to normal, you shouldn't have anymore problems with the vape. You may be feeling better but your lungs are still sick from the bronchitis. It really hasn't been that long since you went to the doctor. Even with meds, like I said earlier, it takes TIME for them to work.

I have to inhale when I vape or it's rather pointless. Damn this blows.

You have to either retrain yourself, or deal with the effects you're causing by inhaling too deeply.

Vaping didn't cause the bronchitis, but if you're pulling in big clouds of vapor then you're certainly irritating things and it's making you cough.

The deep draw, throat only inhale and slow exhale through the mouth and nostrils is absolutely the most effective way of delivering nicotine to the bloodstream.

If you've already been to the Doctor, great. Maybe go back? If you haven't seen a Doctor, why not?

Just think of it as a temporary situation. When I was smoking, it didn't matter if I felt like I was killing myself. I would HAVE to have that couple of puffs even though it hurt, while dealing with bronchitis. At least with just the mouth and nose exhale, you will still get the nic. When I smoked, I would be desperately trying to get even just a tiny bit of nic despite the bronchitis.

Give yourself at least another week. Just do the mouth and nose exhale. It's only temporary. You will be able to go back to full inhale vaping WHEN you are fully recovered.

He has. I think it was just the end of the week last week? He really needs to give the meds time to work. Patience is not a virtue of his, my opinion only. ;)

Signal, seriously, just give it time.

Ugghh, I feel for you. Bronchitis is the worst. I was getting it every year for a while.

In my 32 years as a smoker, the longest period of time I went without a cigarette (two weeks) was due to a particularly bad case of bronchitis. I kept smoking all the other times I was afflicted - just enough to keep nicotine cravings at bay - but man, it was not enjoyable at all!

What pg/VG rating is your liquid? Too much pg will induce coughing if its high enough. I suggest trying a 50/50 pg/VG. Also if you are using a 1.8ohm atomizer you might ought to try a 2.4 or 2.6. When you are over the Bronchitis, especially if its bacterial, take the clearo and atomizer you are using and throw them away and get new ones. Bronchitis is a secondary infection. You don't want it a second time. I don't care what anyone tells you, you can NOT sterilize clearos and atomizers. Alcohol will compromise the plastic and bleach will be impossible to get out. Boiling is out of the question because of the seals.

But be mindful that any kind of inhalant be it vaping, smoking, or even inhalers are irritating to the bronchial tubes and tree and either or will induce coughing. ESPECIALLY if you have Bronchitis and/or pneumonia. Going back to analogs will be a mistake as it will make it worse.

Be patient, most antibiotics take 10 to 14 days just to totally do their job, then your lungs need to heal, another couple of weeks for that. Yes vapor (or smoke) is going to irritate them and slow healing a bit, try to inhale as little as possible and be patient, let your body heal. You'll get back to normal.

Sometimes I cough when I vape. I think a lot of it may have to do with being dehydrated.
I do use all vg, but I am not discouraged. I keep right on vaping because
I know this is a better alternatice. But do I have that chronic smoker cough? No.
Is crap starting to come up out of my lungs as a result of quitting analogs
or real cigs yup. As it is with smokers who quit without any substitute.
Hang in there be patient, our bodies do go through changes.
So the upshot to all of this VAPE ON BAYBEEEEEEE VAPE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will take a several bad vapes any day over a one ssemingly good puff off an analog

If you haven't been to the Dr yet..... GO!!!!!!!! Have them give you a shot of Rosephin (make sure they draw a numbing agent on top in the syringe and they put a fresh needle on) and have them put you on a 5 day Z-pack. Vape slow and do not inhale so deep. If you don't give your lungs time to heal bronchitis can cause scarring on the lungs. You might also ask them about either an Albeuterol inhaler or 250/50 Advair disc inhaler. This will also help break up the phlem and allow you to breath better and easier..... No I am not a Dr or a Nurse but pretty much my family is. My mother was an RN. Father was a Pulmonologist. Grandmother a BSN, grandfather a Gastrointestinal of its. Aunt a PA. I was a paramedic while studying for my BSN. Had to drop out 2 weeks before graduating due to circumstances beyond my control
