I had this when I decided to stop taking antidepressants. Guess what? You can't stop them cold turkey. I had to wean myself off them slowly over the course of several weeks.

BTW, none of my doctors believed me about that symptom. They did all concur that I needed to wean myself off.

The electric shocks are a well known side-effect of withdrawal from anti-depressants. Paxil is one that is particularly bad to wean off. Maybe for some weaning off nic too fast may result in similar withdrawal symptoms.

OMG YES! I thought I was the only one who experienced this! I ended up in the ER, saw a neurologist, did a sleep study, the whole nine yards. Your description is spot on. I described it as my brain rebooting, a sudden falling/dropping, everything was off-balance but only momentarily. The doctors never found anything.

I looked into MS, vertigo, and a whole bunch of conditions. I was terrified that something was really wrong. After a lot of researching and review of my vaping history I found what I think caused my issues. This is my own experience so don't take it as an answer to your problem.

I believe it was caused by two actions that happened at the same time. One was dropping my nic level too fast and too low. Six does not work for me; I need to be at 12-18. The other is that i think I built up PG to the point of an allergy with a 80/20 PG/VG blend. The decrease of nic and build up of PG in my system caused a cascade of issues all at one time.

Now that I've upped my nic and vape no juice below 50/50 (I prefer high VG) the symptoms have completely disappeared. This all happened about a year ago.

It's just my experience, but I hope this helps. :)

Yeah I'm gonna try and up my nic level back to idk 18 since actually come to think of it, it started happening after i went down from 18. And I've always vaped at higher VG but ive read a good number of people form type of allergies towards VG.

Go see Dr. ASAP. This can be something as small as a tweeked nerve all the way up to you have a couple months left to live. Nerve issues are not to be taken likely.

Aaaaaaand I'm gonna ignore that comment, concidering i suffer from depression/being bipolar and anxiety issues lol...

But I am still making an appointment...i guess for my second MRI. First one was an MRI of my brain and that SUCKED. Again, thanks a lot guys/gals :) If you want me to I'll keep you updated.

FWIW: Nicotine in and of itself is considered and anti-depressant to at least some extent. So this could be from dropping nic levels too fast.

Just kidding.
Sounds like there's two decent theories - as good as you'll likely get from your basic general practice doctor.
Check into change in nic level, and check into neck/nerve issue.
I had the latter - not "shocks" but symptoms at least as weird if not weirder. Surgical repair, eventually...

I had the same experience a few years ago coming off anti-depressants...also know a few other folks that had the same feeling with coming off anti-depressants! Have heard of a few other meds that can cause this feeling when stopping as well.

Alrighty then.

The OP got some good suggestions, one super snarky response, confirmation that he is not alone, and some more snark.

The snark needs to stop.

Yeah thank you, some people just dont get it. And Ive made an appointment for next week so we will see what the oh mighty doc says lol.

And the reason I try to avoid doctors is because they always tend to give me these options that cost 1000s of 1000s of dollars which i dont have even with my good insurance :(

Y O Y do vapers blame vaping for every possible heath issue that comes along? And Y O Y do people go to a forum to self diagnose before seeing a Dr.?

And I'm not blaming vaping okay? I'm just looking at all the possible reasons so i can eliminate them one by one smh

Might be a good idea to stop vaping, until you see the Dr.
He will most likely tell you to do this anyway, just to eliminate that as a possible cause.

And a lot of the times they actually can't figure out what's wrong after the monies been spent, been there and done that. Good luck ssavov, hopefully they can find the cause in your case and hopefully it's nothing to get to worried about.

EXACTLY, just because they went to school and got a phd doesn't mean they have all the answers.

My girlfriend has those same symptoms when we're "together". describes it just the same way too!
"The best way i can describe it is, it feels like a shock going from your head all the way down to your legs in the matter of a second and then again and again..."

Uhm ... err ... that would be described more as a "pleasant" shock, wouldn't it??? :)

Glad you made an appointment to visit your Dr.

I know docs get a bad rap, however if you've ever been in a position where you had to troubleshoot something you should understand.

Microsoft Windows can, for example, throw up an error message. That error message can be caused by 25 different things. The only way to fix it is take a look at, and start addressing those 25 things one at a time until you find out what the problem was.

How much more complex is the human body?

Medical doctors are not "PhDs" that's another kind of doctorate. They're bachelor of science- pre med usually, then med school then residency...but yeah some are idiots.

get to a doctor and get checked out, neuropsychiatry is my specialty and there's so many things that could be, stop vaping for at least three days and see if it's not some sort of short in your gear, if not there's anything from a CSpine injury to MS to other diseases that can case that electrical shock all over the body sensation.

    good luck

Thanks :) and its not like a shock from the device or anything its more of a neural shock almost as if my brain gets shorted out lol.
