Another good thing about the Newbie Forum is you're in a place with a bunch of others with the same issues you're having so you don't feel so all alone. I guess that ties into the "freaking out when you get kicked out of the nest" post above.

I can see both sides but I prefer it the way it is. I didn't feel nearly as overwhelmed in the Newbie Forum and the Modder Forums are still overwhelming even though I can at least understand what they're talking about now--well, until they start arguing electrical theory, anyway.

Welcome to the forum!

I am definitely the chatty sort in forums, as you can see by my post count in just a couple of months. So of course the 5 post rule barely made a blip on my radar before I had it done, and it didn't occur to me that people would find it troublesome.

I got so much help, information and inspiration there when I first started. I still go to the newcomers forum first when I check in with ECF. I want to encourage and help the newbies because I was helped so much in those first few weeks.

Dude, it's 5 posts to freedom. You could knock that off in 20 minutes, max.

I have a 7 post per month average. It probably took me a year to get out of the new members forum. :p

I still feel new so I appreciate the new members forum. I get settled in the most basic set up and need to visit the new forum for updates if I choose to explore upgrades.

*off topic*
If there was a lurkers forum, I would be there. I think I have chronic lurking syndrome. :p

I love the new members forum. I always look at ECF using the 'today's posts' button, so I just see a list of posts with most recent first. I scan down the list for things I might know something about or things that look interesting. I don't even look at what forum they are in. So I am just as likely to click on a post in the newbie forum as some other forum if it looks like something I might be interested in. The new members forum is a wealth of information, and so many of the oldbies will answer and give advice that it's really no disadvantage to post your question here, even if it is something much more advanced than "which ego should I get".

New members forum is great because it's the perfect place to ask those "newbie" questions that you probably feel a bit embarrassed about to ask in say the APV section  it's also a great place to feel welcomed to the forums. I've been a member on a few other ecig forums and they're usually a bunch of elitist :censored:ers that'll just laugh and ridicule you rather than actually y'know... help
