So I was just watching some youtube videos about Vivi nova tanks because I'm kinda excited mine is about to arrive, when I see a video of some dude talking about how he got ripped and bought a fake version of the tank. After watching the video I went to ebay to check the few pictures of the tank the seller had, and from what I see, the version I bought may be fake.

I'm kinda sad and really ...... off right now because I fell into this so easily; I saw the seller had a very good score and great comments and I blindly trusted him. I even talked to him via mail and he seemed to be a nice guy...

What concerns me the most and its the main reason I wrote this thread is to ask if the fake versions of the tank are really that bad or they work okay? I know they won't be as good as the originals but I will need to use the fake one for a while until I get the cash for the new one... -.-

I don't know if I'm allowed to post the link here but I really want you guys to see the pictures and tell me what you think.

Vivi Nova V5 3 5ml Atomizer for Ego 510 Thread Assorted Finishes | eBay

Well, there's no telling what that seller is selling, actually. There is no mention of manufacturer. The "good" ViVi Novas are made by Vision and are sold in boxes that clearly state "Vision ViVi Nova" on them.

That doesn't mean you'll be getting a bad knockoff--but it's possible. In the future, I recommend buying from reputable e-cig vendors who clearly state the name and make of their products.

If I've learned anything from vape gear, it's that buying cheap means buying twice. I've tried, so many times, to save some money...and practically every single time, it costs me more than twice as much. Now, I've found a handful of reputable vendors and I don't care if it's a few dollars more, or $10 more than elsewhere...I just pay up for the piece of mind. It's been worth every penny.

There are good value items out there, but I only consider it after I research, research, research.

I hope you at least have success, genuine or not. If not, chalk it up to another learning experience. I did, and I'm done crying about it.

Previous posters have it right I think.
Try it, if it doesnt perform to your expectations contact the ebay seller.
In the future, buy from a vendor.
Vivi Nova's aren't super expensive (IMO), so saving a few dollars on ebay doesn't make sense given the risk involved.
I have a vivi nova and love it. I've been running it for about 6 months and only had to replace the glass (plastic... tank piece.. whatever) once because I'm an idiot and broke it. I've got just the clear style like this (but I think mine is a V1 or something.. different head). I rock the 1.8 heads on it and love it on my ego-t in regulated mode! Even now that I've got my APV and Rebuildables, it still has my adv flavor in it. I'm sure that will change as I get better with rebuilding. But still.. $15 and you KNOW its legit? It's worth it to me.
I usually wait until I need more vape gear to save on the shipping.. but some times you need it now (and you pay extra for that)!

Take it as a learning experience.. we have a lot of those as vapers...
Good luck!

There are some people who have to shop at named brand stores and then there are ones who see value in not so brand name products. You can spend a ton on name brands just to have that brand or you can save money and buy the knock-offs. I have owned name brand products that didn't last longer or ever work better then non brand name products of similar function. I.E. televisions, blue-ray players etc..... Yes some of the Chinese products have faults and its hard to get an issue resolved from a mass producing company across an ocean but you also have to realize the name brands are also buying the same products from the same company and just putting a fancy cover over it.

I don't know if you are old enough to remember the movie "Armageddon" with Bruce Willis, but there is a part in that movie where the Russian scientist guy is beating on an electronics panel and shouting about parts and failures and using both U.S. and Russian but either way all the parts come from Taiwan. Well the truth is that a vast majority of the "guts" in our electronic devices started from Chinese makers. Us here in America can't produce the products without a huge cost because of all the sanctions and taxes and all that b.s. so we all buy from china and we try to pass it off as American made. The truth is that it is assembled here if we are lucky.

So in a long round about way, you take a risk with everything and the one "YouTube" video you saw was more then likely from a disgruntled person who jumped on the bash china made products bandwagon. Good luck and I hope it all turns out well for you.

I just bought a few clone rbas because I couldn't afford the 100+ for the authentic... So I bought the Chinese knockoff for 35.. I was just saying when it's 10 dollars for a knock off or 30 for the real thing, I'd pay the 30. That's just me, imo and all of that. This is all personal preference and we all value different things... But if I was going to get ripped off for 10 or pay 30 for the real deal I'd pay the 30... Obviously there is a line because when it's the difference between 35 and 100... I'll take the 35 all day (after my due diligence ofcourse)
