Getting sick from vaping? Nope. Something far more sinister.

WOW I just ordered my vapor king and excited to get it but reading this is making me very nervous. I had no idea that you would get withdrawls when changing to vaping. I knew it would be a different experience but if I wanted withdrawls or to be sick I would have just quit with patch!
Don't worry. For many people the change isn't difficult. If you find it not working well post on the forum with what's not right and someone will jump in with help. One place to look if it doesn't work easily is the article at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ing-your-symptoms-while-adjusting-vaping.html

If it isn't easy (and it might be), it will still be a lot easier than the patch. If you have a strong desire to quit smoking, converting to vaping is unlikely to be very hard. And while you're learning it, every cigarette you don't smoke because you're vaping is a good thing.

The withdrawls that I am going through now are NOTHING compared to what I went through on the patch, gum, etc. I hardly notice the withdrawls except for a few isolated incidents where I get a bad stomach or a little hyper. As opposed to patches, gum, etc where it was a constant battle just to get through the day.

Once you are hooked on cigarettes, that's it. Your're hooked. There is no quick and clean way off. But if you switch to vaping, you will likely find things to be much less difficult than if you try to drop analogs via most of the smoking cessation therapies that are available at this time.

I love vaping. I have had my ups and dows with it so far. Hardware going bad, juices I didn't like, etc. But that's life. I've gotten to the point where I am happy with my hardware, happy with my juices, happy with my nicotine level. I wouldn't give up vaping for anything and even though I still have a few analogs, I still feel better and save huge amounts of money.

I can't promise you will love vaping as much as me. But, I think it's a pretty good bet that you will NOT be sorry you tried it.

Thank you! I hope it works for me, I have to quit because early stages of COPD at 35!! I trust that getting the nicotine and the hand to mouth relation still being there will work out wonderfully for me :)

That was the biggest deal for me too. I needed the nicotine, yes. But I also needed the hand-to-mouth relation. I also needed to be able to exhale something. I love to blow smoke rings. It feels great and it's fun. You can do that when you vape. I can't speak for everyone, but I think most people would find blowing smoke rings rather difficult with a nicotine patch.

I am thrilled with vaping. I know for a fact I will never go back to analogs full time. I am hoping that I will one day, finally be able to walk away from the analogs. I have, however, gone from 2.5 packs a day to 1 pack every two weeks. Not bad a drop.

Brooke -- I think, for me, it's not just the nicotine, or the hand/mouth deal, but it's the vapor I love! I can get nic from NRT (sucks!!). I can get the hand/mouth deal several ways...but I can only get the vapor from an e-cig. Too, I had to be determined to not smoke cigs. I vaped and smoked for several months before I was ready to give up the cigs. I think it will work for you, too, if you want it. And ECF is here to help.

My first week vaping I had a total of 11 analog cigarettes. The last 3 were on 3 different days that I forgot and just lit a cigarette from habit!

I smoked for almost 52 years - at least 1-2 packs a day. Tried smokenders (didn't work), patch (didn't work) - but vaping - I have not had a cigarette for a month and don't want one!

It has been easy for me - I do have a total of 5 batteries - 4 atomizers and 7 cartridges that I refill, so there is never a panic moment.

Good luck to you - I wish you the same painless success that I have had.

Alright I admit it! It's a sadistic and cruel three pound lump of hamburger whose only reason for being is to mock me when I do stupid stuff and make me feel guilty when I don't put a dollar bill in the Salvation Army kettles at Christmas.

Okay, I can totally relate to this statement...

Oh yeah, please don't anyone get the idea that I'm worried or giving up or anything like that. I've tried to quit smoking at least a dozen times over the last 30 years. I'm not in the least bit concerned that I will be able to do it this time.

I just think the way the brain messes with us is kind of funny.

Sort of.

Ya know, not funny "ha-ha" but funny "weird".

Ok, not really funny.

It's not the brain that messes with you, is one of the 4000+ chemicals contained in the cigarette cocktail that is messing with your brain.

After 10 days of no nicotine intake, the body has been flushed of nicotine. Some chemicals produce Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors up to 8-10 weeks after one quits smoking. God only knows what the rest of the chemicals in analogs do or their lifecycle in the host.

Where I came from cigarette smoking is a good example of e-cig 'intervention' if you will. I was able to completely stay off them from day one, yes there are times things don't work right, bad juice, etc. But my biggest hurdle was overcoming the urge to stuff food down my throat! Withdrawal can be awful, my case that was the extent pretty much. But the first week the coughing stopped. And I felt 'clean' for the first time in years. Not going back, ever!!

I'm lucky vaping kept a padlock on the fridge. My two triggers were caused by MAOs at week 5 and 9 respectively. Week 5 was always were I fell of the wagon. But being a DIYer I beat the demons into submission. I still have 5ml of ashtray juice should they come back :D 1st time 3 hits, 2nd 2 hits.

KP, I don't know anything about the snus, etc. I hope that does it for you. While you are waiting for some to arrive, if you want to trick your brain back, light a cigarette and take one or two puffs then put it out. Your brain will know it had some smoke and you can probably use the same cigarette for a day or two.

Good luck.

Although I would normally support that the odd cigarette is OK in the beginning as long as the member is off analogs and stays off analogs, then eventually that's cool.

However, re-ingesting the chemicals that trigger these behaviours are not a wise recommendation IMHO. The good work you have done, gets thrown out the window so to speak.

There is a lot more going on than just nicotine and once again IMHO, the quicker we rid our bodies of these other toxins, the quicker we can deal with our addiction nicotine.

Snus will give you the rest of anything you are missing by vaping alone. It comes in many delicious flavors. You really have to try the real deal, and not the Marlboro or Camel "fake" snus. The combination of vaping and snus will prevent you from losing your mind.

At this point, and seeing this work for friends as well, I cannot imagine somebody could not quit smoking cigarettes with the potent combination of these far more healthier alternatives; together they cover all the bases from chemical to psychological.

I've got an open pack of cigarettes that's been sitting here for months and it's never even occurred to me to pick them up. I don't feel like I am missing out on anything or having to deprive myself of anything, in fact I am pretty much continually indulging myself guilt-free with these two fantastic and by far healthier activities.

I just wish they would have give snus a different name. When my brotherinlaw quit smoking cold turkey, he gained almost a hundred pounds. If I had been able to give him some delicious little pillows of an "herbal remedy", he wouldn't have endangered himself so much by the weight gain. Really, it comes down to doing what works. The idea is to "do no harm", if using an herbal remedy is necessary, so be it, that can be dealt with after the fact of stopping smoking. You still have some "no harm room" to spare, MHO.
I keep my Year Old Plus cigarettes out on display, just to look at them and celebrate their demise. It's a great feeling! I was lucky, I could go 100% e-cig on day one, no more smokes.

I will try Snus again when I get the trial pack of Swedish ones that I ordered. My experience the Camel and Marlboro has been pretty bad.

For now, I will keep burning an analog when necessary. I'm not too worried about them. In fact, I don't even have any in the house right now and I'm not freaking. So, I think this will work for now.

Besides, I just created a new flavor that I love. I had a little Virginia Tobacco, Cuban Tobacco, Strawberry, Clove and Bubble Gum left in their respective bottles. I mixed them all together, kicked up the nic level with my 100mg unflavored nic juice and started puffing away. It's really quite good. Don't ask me what it tastes like. I couldn't describe it if you held a gun to my head. But it's way more fun to drag that into my mouth than any analog.
