Hey all,
Trying to get into DIY juice. I recently bought some measuring equipment, some base liquid and just a couple flavorings from OOO. Would like some suggestions on moving forward. Here are some questions i have...

-What can i do to make exceptionally smooth juice? (No throat hit @6mg)
-Are there any options out there to get a sample kit with lots of different flavorings to try?
-Are there any essential tools or flavorings/enhancers that i should always have on my desk?

Thanks in advance.

First off I would recommend reading through both the blogs in my signature, they are a wealth of information.

I recommend for creating your own flavors you purchase atleast 5-6 glass droppers, these will allow you to quickly do 100 drop tests for new flavors, 1 drop = 1% of flavor (or base) for example a simple one I mixed up the other day:
50 drops VG
35 drop PG
7 drops Raspberry(sweet)
6 drops Lemon
2 drop Ethyl Maltol

Gives you roughly 2.5-3ml of juice, enough to fill a tank once and get a good feel of the flavor, and adjust from there, only takes a couple minutes to make a test batch this way and you won't be wasting any of your flavorings making too large of batches which may turn out to be unvapable.

As far as flavors/enhances that you MUST have, you should make sure you have a couple different creams, and a couple sweeteners (Sweet Cream, Bavarian Cream, Ethyl Maltol/Cotton Candy, Sweetener). The creams/sweeteners added at low percentages (1-3% ea) will help your primaries stand out, and give them more of a "true flavor", also makes it smoother to vape (and it doesn't have to taste creamy, they are background notes at these percentages).

Hope this helps give you a bit of a starting point, I am sure there will be many more people chiming in here soon.

Get good clean bases, PG, VG, and Nic. Taste test your bases before you start adding flavoring to make sure they are pretty darn neutral.

Danged if I know. Never tried a sample kit or starter kit or any kit.

A notebook and writing instrument. Getting the flavoring level just right is the key. Tricks and enhancers are not magic bullets and can complicate mixing. Get the simple stuff down "pat" first and then expand from there to save yourself some frustration.
