I have been vaping a long time and I love it. I use a number of different setups. I just don't think
that I am getting the best flavor out of my liquids. I use the Vivi Nova, Kanger ProtankII, innokin Clear 30 etc.
With them I use the Vamo, EGO twists, Bolt, Kamry K100.
They all produce a lot of vapor. However, I just don't think that I am getting good flavor. Sure.....some of my
selections taste good but overall, most of them don't. I have tried countless vendors and it seems like
the descriptions never taste like they are supposed to.
Am I missing something?
I like the tobacco flavors and once in a while I treat myself to a fruity or something but I get all excited and then
when I try them, they suck!!!
I am open for suggestions.:vapor:

Hi,
I have experience with Vivi Novas and the Kanger PT 2 mini. So far waiting for my Innokin 16 in the mail. The best i believe out of my experience is the Vivi Nova so far.

my experience with Kanger's PT 2 has been meh... Muted flavour big time! Or a burnt taste along with leaking. So im probably on the same page with you here on the flavour muted.

As some say here, silica wicks in these systems do tend to mute the flavours. I only have exp with these tanks so i cant recommend any other cartos or drip systems for you at the time being. Sorry.

Whats your PG/VG ratio? Just curious. Maybe your liquids have to steep a little while to bring the best out of it. My vendor strongly advises me on this as he hand mixes mine on the day i order. I order cream, pastry flavours and they are a must for steeping. My vendor's tobacco needs 1.5 weeks steeping and 1 week for sweets and fruit flavours for it to taste right and amazing. My guessing...

Quality and quantity of vapor is highly dependent on what you are cocking your juice in. The same juice will taste different in a different atomizer. Sounds like it is time to step up your game and search for a decent rba or genesis style. Vapping the same juice in the Russian rba is fantastic, trying it in my old protank II, and the flavor is muted, not as full, not as satisfying. and less vapor production.

For the absolute best juice flavor the one thing you want to stay away from is clearos which is what you said you used. For best flavor you might want to try a good dripping atomizer (Avid vapor or Empire mods) and make sure not to go too high on voltage so you don't burn the juice.
Are the dripping atomizers the ones that you soak the cotton inside? I haven't ever tried those? Are they hard to keep filled?

they're not nearly as convenient as a clearo or any other sort of tank atty. you drip around 5 drops at a time, take a few hits until the flavor starts to fade, then drip 5 more drops. not really good for on the go, but if you're sitting at home and want the best flavor, no (non-rebuildable) tank can compete.

I mean sure you can make micro coils with cotton and get an absolutely awesome vape for pennies. But then I'd have to throw you into the world of rebuildables which can be messy and there is usually a learning curve unless you've dealt with wiring before. I try to recommend things that are grab and go friendly for people unless they specifically ask for something.

As far as dripping attys the hh357 as said, the cisco bridgeless 306 or the empire 501 premium are all great dripping atomizers. While you're at it swing by empire mods and get a drip shield so you don't accidentally over drip and get juice on your mod.

For starting out with dripping you might want to try the new Vision Aurora BFT. Unlike manual dripping there really isn't any learning curve to use the Aurora and the included atty is very good. You can use any manufactured 510 dripping atty with the Aurora that has a hole in the bottom which is nearly all of them including the HH.357.

The Aurora doesn't take RDAs but, in addition to the the dripping atty, the kit comes with two heads that you use with an included tube. The heads are rebuildable should you want to start learning to build coils for RDAs.

Todd usually reviews more advanced gear but he very much liked the Aurora. I've been using four Auroras for my secondary rotation juices and pretty much agree with Todd's praise. Got Vapes has the Aurora BFT- Bottom Fed Tank Top Atomizer Kits in stock and Mad Vapes should have them in a week or so.

Dripping; When there in stock check out a DCA. They are used with a 306 Atomizer that fits on a standard 510 thread. Or a Rebuildable like others have suggested. I have no affiliation with the makers, I love this device. They are hard to get at this time for some reason, they are never in stock lately. It is basically a glorified drip shield, which i have never used though. There may be other products out there.

Anyhow Dripping is the answer for best taste. I like a protank when driving. Don't drip and drive.

There is a small learning curve in keeping the atty wet as not to burn it and ruin the atty's taste. There are some 3 hole atty's also which are designed for dripping which may be a good way to start out. Just a little messy without a drip shield.

Above is a drip atomizer. Similar to a cartomizer which uses polyfiber packing to hold the e-liquid, but an atomizer has no packing. You drip a few drops directly into the atomizer and then vape. After several puffs, you add a few more drops. This is said to have the purest flavor as there is no wick material to alter the taste of the juice. Inconvenient because of the methodology, but many prefer this method to others, and others use this method to sample new flavors.

Another way to use a drip atomizer is to use a bottom feeder mod like above. A removeable self-contained juice tank is in the mod, with a window in the mod to manually squeeze juice up the bottom of the atomizer to feed it e-liquid. The full flavor of an atomizer with the convenience of a tank. The Ocelot calls this upside down dripping. The Reo and VMod are two popular bottom feeding box mods.

My personal opinion, and of many others, a cartotank will provide more flavor than any clearomizer that uses string wicks. The polyfill packing's additional surface area that totally surrounds the heating coil ensures more flavor and vapor. The tank is merely a reservoir to hold juice; the key here is to find a premium quality cartomizer. I use Ikenvape cartomizers; others prefer Boge or Smoktech cartos.

I have been dwelling over this situation for a long time. Just like a hardhead not to ask for help!!! You guys have really helped me. The Aurora BFT looks like the best of both worlds. Its a dripping atomizer as well as a tank. I bought one. I also bought a HH357. May as well give it a try too. Thanks to everyone that answered me.

A rebuildable first, and a carto tank second.

Also, I remember the first time I tried a "high quality" juice. Man, what a difference compared to The local shop's house juices.

I also feel like I'm more sensitive to warmer dessert flavors as well.

Fill me in on high quality juices. I buy them from a number of different places. Is there one or two that have better than others?

If you find that the taste and performance of dripping appeals to you I would encourage you to explore the world of rebuildable dripping atomizers (RDAs) if the tinkering isn't off-putting to you. Micro-coils for RDAs are very easy to do and you can get excellent performance within the confines of the safety of a regulated battery or one with a fuse.

You can start practicing building coils with your current gear by rebuilding the Aurora heads. Check your builds with a multimeter before putting them on your Twists.

You can use the HH.357 as a benchmark for comparison with your own builds. I find that the HH.357s do a much better job of preserving subtle, nuanced flavors that don't do well at high power while maintaining good vapor production while my RDAs easily produce large quantities of vapor for flavors that shine at higher power. It's all a matter of personal taste.

I highly recommend getting a dripping atomizer and a genesis style atomizer. I have a Nimbus RDA and it gives better flavor than anything I've tried so far. The Igo W and Igo L (priced around $17 and $12) are excellent budget options for dripping. For genesis style RBAs, the Smoktech RSST is an excellent choice for around $25.

You'll initially spend a little extra for rebuilding supplies (eBay is a good place for buying kanthal wire, stainless steel mesh and silica) but once you have some supplies then rebuildable atomizer are way cheaper. I've been vaping on a few of my drippers for almost 2 months without any decrease in flavor or vapor production.

Don't be put off by the learning curve, rebuilding is fairly easy. Just watch a few YouTube videos (there are many excellent ones) and follow the methods that they use. You will be greatly rewarded by your efforts to learn.

Happy vaping.
