I had the metal taste issue with my ProTank and no amount of cleaning fixed it. I've had metal drip tips (aluminum and stainless), and they didn't have the issue, so I don't know what the problem might be.

Was getting the crappy taste from one of my new evods yesterday, boiled a new one today, tastes great right off the hop.
Boiled the old one from yesterday and still garbage. The crap head is bein' tossed into the bin for rebuilding and a fresh one
is getting installed.
My conclusion from this is some coils are just crappy and they may improve some with cleaning and pouring juice through them, but a good head/coil should work great off the hop, right outta the box. YMMV.
I din't like the taste/feel of the metal in my mouth (among other things) so I put a piece of heat shrink on it. Gives a nicer feel in the mouth and I'm not getting that metal taste.
