I am randomly getting the hiccups when I hit my VP, there is no rhyme or reason, just happens every so often. Is this just a reaction from the warm vapor? Is it a PG thing? Anyone else have this happen? I am not overly concerned, but I am curious. I know for a fact it is from vaping and not something else, just not why it happens.

Any thoughts would be great!

Hi

Check your vaping technique. (Videos in the ECF library and on YouTube.) It sounds like you may be swallowing air when you vape and ingesting nicotine in the process. If you are, in effect, gulping vape and it's getting to your stomach that could be the trouble. It's a known problem that swallowing too much nicotine in saliva produced by that nic-o-gum quit smoking aid will produce hiccups.

The other way you might be ingesting nicotine is if for any reason you are getting the liquid in your mouth - not the vape - due to some sort of problem with your setup. For some folks I have talked to it doesn't take much liquid. And they never knew ingesting nicotine could induce hiccups.

Look for sources where you might be swallowing and ingesting nicotine.

I will try to watch for that the next time it happens. I did forget to mention that I do have a hiatal hernia and I don't know if that could be the problem. It is very random and does not happen often. I am using a ViVi Nova and a few different Cartos as well. I guess I should try to see if it is a certain juice or device causing it as well. Must be more vigilant on what is going on when it happens. Thanks for the information, i will check it all out.

There was another thread recently on this here. I had noticed my hiccups in the past, and it seemed to be caused by vapor (with nic) condensing somewhere in my throat, as if I had partially swallowed a tiny drop. I sucessfully duplicated it by using bad vaping technique. It took me most of the rest of that day to un-learn that bad technique.

What strength are you vaping? I have never experienced it, but too much nic makes some people hiccup. I have a friend that smokes, and chews three pieces of nic gum at the same time, he gets hiccups.

That's a Good call. I should have consider that.

Also, how long has the OP been Vaping the e-Liquid that makes He/She Hiccup?

I used to get hiccups even when smoking if it was windy outside.... Don't ask, I have no idea. I thought it had something to do with extra air coming in. The swallowing is very interesting and that might explain it.
I do know that I found out how to get rid of the hiccups very quickly after this happens is to take a drag into your mouth then immediately inhale through your nose with your mouth closed, lol. Sounds funny but it works.
