I am having a hard time getting the menthol smell and flavor out of my cartos. I've tried cleaning them with rubbing alcohol (left a nasty taste) and bioling them for a few minutes in water. No matter what, the smell and slight taste of menthol is still stuck in the filler. Are there any tricks that I haven't found yet, short of buying seperate cartos for other flavors? I want to experiment with some fruit flavors and that minty undertone just won't cut it.

I wouldn't use rubbing alcohol - it's poison. And some flavors are very very clingy like menthol and cinnamon. I recommend buying new cartomizers. And use an atomizer, not cartomizers, to test juices. The following atomizers can be used on these cartomizer models - just do not use a drip tip on the atomizer unless you have a sealed manual battery (use cartridges instead).

KR808D-1 - (V4L,Volt,Bloog. G6, Smoketiip, etc) standard resistance DSE901 atomizer
KR808D-2 - (Greensmoke, Red Dragon) at LeCig.com get a a D2 to x adapter and use the atomizer that fitsx
Blu - standard resistance 510 or 306 atomizer
RN4081 - (Smokstik and lots of rebrander models) RN4081 atomizer

Definately keep menthols seperate from everything. Try reboil and soak in vodka if tgat doesn't work just replace and pick up a couple attys for tasting. I like my 306 atty from mad vapes
306 2.5 ohm Atomizer with Colored Drip Tip

Btw that atty will only work if you have a 510 threaded pv. What are you using?
