Chris, I know you may not be keen on this idea, but if you want to send your GG to me, I will try and get the caps off for you and send it back to you. PM me if you want to discuss this.

Unfortunately, I believe that deeper caps are not really possible with existing trans as it is hard for Imeo to guarantee the exact fit unless he has the GG in his hands, due to subtle differences between each unit. (the nature of a handmade product, I guess).

Thank you Lisa, thats most kind of you.

I do appreciate the problems over fit etc., hence I didnt follow up on that one, I just wanted Imeo to try and understand the problem from someone without a great deal of grip, and look at that aspect when he designs his next creation.

Unfortunately when we see an item, whatever it may be, we often fall in love without realising the potential problem it could cause to us. I'm sure no one thought of this when Imeo came out with the brass caps as accessories, if we had, we would have mentioned it to him.

Again, Lisa, thank you for the kind offer.

You are most welcome, and the offer still stands, if you want to take me up on it, just PM me anytime.

I know what you are saying and I am sure Imeo does too. He has, as he says, incorporated this into the new GGTS as much as he can without affecting overall design and appearance too much - which is always an issue of course.

He is, as you know, constantly looking for ways to improve his products and takes all feedback very seriously. Unfortunately, a new-improved version doesn't directly help those who have older version, but that's what happens with early adopters of new technology. We forget that this industry is still almost completely brand new and as such these issues are to be expected.

I have sent you a PM Lisa, as I would like to take you up on your kind offer.

Yes the industry is very new, but its moving too fast, so a PV that is only a matter of 6 months old, is already way out of date, it's the way of the industry, and that is not necessarily a bad thing, although it does leave people with older models of most PV's in a strange position.

I also know Imeo takes feedback seriously, but he can often take it as criticism, when it is not meant to be, which means the comments are made outside of the forum for fear of missunderstanding.

Also, Imeo's feedback can be missunderstood, for example in his reply to me, he states the following:-

you can use alcohol or aether to clean the threads with a small brush so threads will be like new again.

This advice is wonderful as and when the cap comes off, plus I stated I know the right things to use

As for the caps, I already solved this with GGTS. After Vaug told me this issue, I solve it immediately. You have to see and you will understand

This could be interpreted as saying buy a GGTS, and we cannot keep on buying newer and newer models in order to obtain a model that works for us. Imeo promised an immortal ecig, that is what we want

Note
I said could be interpreted, I did not interpret it that way, as I know Imeo fairly well.

The first part was because he didnt quite grasp what I was getting at, that I wanted advice on how to release the cap, not what to do after. I learned a lot from Imeo and his earlier videos, including cleaning routines, which I should have adhered to, a lot more frequently than I did, so am blaming no one but myself here.

The second part, he was simply pointing out that he was aware of the problem thanks to Vaughanie. Unfortunately I did not see that post, so was not aware of the adaptations on the GGTS for those of us with less than perfect grips.

So, this post is simply to point out that I realise the problems, am more than happy to accept Lisa's kind offer, and am glad that Imeo is considering everyone when coming up with his creations. And lastly, I still think the GG is the most beautiful PV out there, whichever model, hence I didnt want mine ruined by trying to release the cap with force.

yep, them's the breaks.

I think I would take it as criticism too, if it were a product I designed and handmade myself.

Misinterpretations are so common on the internet, particularly in fora and here we have the added issue of different languages, I think sometimes we all (myself included) need to take a deep breath before making our minds up about things.

I am glad you accept and we will speak about it again after Christmas.

The problem arent the deeper caps, deeper caps means more problems if the threads got dirty. The problem is that the caps are small so you cant grab them easily to unthread them if they got dirty. So please keep the threads clean.

One more reason to keep them clean is that you dont want to see a black thread everytime you unthread the cap or the sections to change batteries.:)

I contacted Imeo by PM to talk everything over, and we have agreed to make a trade. I am sending the Transformer back to him, in exchange for a slim. I do think the smaller size, as well as the bottom placement of the button will work out much better for me.... and I would really like to be a "happy" GG customer again :)

Glad to say my problem too will be sorted by this time tomorrow. A local sheet steel company contacted me today re a problem with a stray cat ( I work for an animal charity) and I have sorted his problem, and after a little chat, he agreed to sort mine.

Sorry Stormy, I tried the Jam Pot release along with pliers, and it did remove the adapter, so a partial success, but I couldnt get the cap off.

Thank you for the offer of assistance Lisa, but it will no longer be needed.

Mixxy I am delighted Imeo was able to resolve your problem.

I am so pleased that it looks as if you are going to resolve all issues to your satisfaction. Sounds like an excellent solution - the new slim is just the cutest device (IMHO)

I really hope that this company can help you out as you did for them (well, for their stray). If they can't, let me know, I'd still be very happy to try and help out in any way I can.

Smiles all round. :):):)

The GG cap has been released, and I have been advised to clean the fittings with acetone on a regular basis as well as using a compound such as Noalax. So its all good news.

Thanks SO much for updating us on this. I am really happy that you managed to get this problem sorted out.
Yes, that Noalox stuff is excellent I will be stocking it very soon as part of GG Service Kit 1 :D
