Mosh, i have one of those nickel plated brass tb 510 caps and bottom caps too. they are really banged up. is there any way to remove the nickel plating? (its beyond polishing)
I don't know anything about the process beyond what I just googled, remove nickel plating from brass, basically it looks like very caustic and dangerous chemicals may be required, or perhaps heavy buffing?..you could take them to a local gunsmith/someone who does metal plating and see if they could deplate it for you or had any advice on a way to do so reasonably, it just looks like you'd really have to know what you're doing for safety's sake
im in the same boat....on the nickel plated connections...but i may be wrong... did they come in aluminum ever? if so i may have those...
regardless i still want a brass GGTB 510 connection
now the bottom caps on COV are for the GGTB right? they look similar to the GGTS bottom picture
are those coming or are they all gone Bruce?
The TB 901 connectors came in aluminum, and nickel plated aluminum, brass, np brass. But the 510 ones
weren't ever made in aluminum that I've seen. A new style brass connector would be nice, and would complete my brass tb too! I think they weren't made this time
because there was some concern over all the prevalent steel atty connectors out there messing up the softer brass
threads. I did ruin one of the two brass connectors I used
to have by dropping it with an iatty attached and the steel won...but now I'm just more careful and don't use heavy steel attys on them
