Make sure the wire on the side with the ceramic on it is the wire you attach to the bottom post. The wire on the metal side attaches to the body nut. When you take it apart make sure you have an o-ring inside the ceramic between the pin and the nut. Cranking the pin wire down tight with no o-ring could chip/crack that ceramic if no o-ring there. Several of us got our Ody's with that o-ring missing.
Actually, the way Imeo has changed it, the wire going down the metal side just needs to be snipped where the threaded part of the rebuildable section ends. In the past version, attaching the wire to the body nut may have been causing leakage, that's why in this version one side is ceramic, and the other is metal so just by touching the metal slot, it is making the needed connection.

Duh, I didn't even notice that. But luckily that's the way I had it, but was still getting the error. I finally made one that worked this morning. 3rd time's the charm I guess! It's still not the resistance I wanted, but that's why VV is awesome. I got it to 1.4 ohms, where I'd really like it at least 2. I didn't use the wire that came with the Ody, I used the silver jewelry NR wire & nichrome 32 gauge that I ordered from Amazon. Yeah, I can definitely see now why more wick & wire is needed! I even made the R wire longer than in igetcha's video. Guess I'll make it even longer next time?

Been dying my hair this morning & vaping on it. At first the taste was funky, but it seems to be getting better tasting the more I vape it (or maybe that's just the dye chemicals getting to my brain???). Next step I guess is to order kanthal to see how that tastes. After I run out of this wick, I did order some cotton candle wick that I'll try out. I didn't check to see if I was missing the o ring that everyone else is missing - I'm afraid to take it apart now that I finally got it working!

Red I know when the first batch of Ody's came out some folks were having trouble with a funky taste but I thought that problem had been resolved. I think there was some kind of residue from the manufacturing process that needed to be cleaned or burned off. Mine tastes great, especially in drip mode. I use 32 guage A-1 Kanthal for resistance and .999 Silver for non resistance and build dual coils which come in at about .9 ohms. To me that gives the best juice flavor ever and I'm vaping it at 6.4 Volts. Helluva throat hit too. Forget it on the Provari though cause all you'll get is error messages. My Provari won't even tolerate 1.5 ohm, much less anything lower. Drip mode Ody with dual coils sittin on top of GGTS powered by 2 of the 3.2V batteries with Ms T's coffee + cream and sweetener is heaven. Provari is just gathering dust right now. Let us know how the cotton wick works.
