too bad i just bought 15 feet i have the same problem some times with the 3 mm guess the 3.5 its going to be even harder to squeeze in...:(

I know the feeling. I bought 100 ft of 3.5mm. But, the good news is you can just untwist a couple of threads from the length you cut and discard them and it's fine. I suppose if you're frugal you could save all the off twists and twist them back together lol. Same goes for the 3mm. Just untwist as many threads as you want to make it how you want it to be.

many people putting then in and out of housing erich. No reason to do that but it happens:)
Is there any compelling reason to change the ceramics other than one breaking? One of mine is around 8 months old and still doing fine... I just clean it out with a q-tip every now and then.

Just wondering if I'm missing something, since I see people collecting hoards of them. :)

Yeah, once you cut the piece for the wick, if you pinch both ends and twist in the opposite direction, you can catch a strand or two in the middle and separate it without fraying the rest. It'll be naturally inclined to twist back together.

As far as reforming the remains, you'd need some sort of rope twister to turn each strand in the opposite direction... pretty sure even on the cheap, it would take years to pay for itself. ;)
