i have been reading comments from this forum and other forums comparing the gg and the feeding systems to other mods... such as the tank, fog and bottom feeders. imo the gg is in a completely different category. i have not seen any mods on the market that let you completely customize your vaping experience. i like having control and options lol. whether or not this makes the gg the best device on the market is up to the consumer. my point in making this is i see a lot of negative reviews about whether or not gg is "the best" if u are a vaping connoisseur, i think anyone who owns a gg is, this is truely the best. my hope is that imeo continues to make the only device that can be fully adjusted. it reminds me of the difference between a fully manual slr camera and one that just takes the picture or is fully automatic. although a fully automatic camera can take really nice pictures, it may mess up capturing the photo because you can't get it to focus on what you want it to because it has an auto focus and the apature can't be adjusted. a fully manual slr in the hands of someone that knows how to use it can capture beautiful pictures in any moment in time.

imeo, i admire you for handling constructive and passive/ aggressive feedback. having a true passion for something that is only a hobby and deciding to share it with everyone.

Thanks so much for starting this thread. I just put in one of my regular orders to Bruce, COV, today, and in the message box asked him to point me in directions where I could read up on the GG and maybe have someone tell me why I "need" one. So the "why" has been answered by this thread.

Now I want to read up on the GG.

For background, I have had a few mods, I do some modding of things from computers to just about anything, and I am totally addicted to using our collection of Reos. That being said, I do have other mods I use, The Don, The Roughstack, and a beautiful Lefty Lacewood Phidias. Roughstack goes to woods with me because I would just die if I lost a Reo, Phidias can't take a beating like the Reos but vapes great and offers some adjustment with ohm and voltage. Don is great for playing with the tank mods and also offers some variations with ohms and voltages, and Reo's too. Reos are family that I don't expect to ever divorce.

So I really don't "need" another mod but I do like to play with great and beautiful pieces of ...... we'll I hate to use the crude word "equipment".

So, how about directing me so I can find out all about the beautiful GG. It definitely has to be a feeder version.

Thanks, Alice

I can have two families. What I'm wondering is which finish to get. I have naughty dogs that like to steal thing from me. So far I have been able to protect my special PVs from them but I have to be very alert.

Which finish is the toughest finish in case they or I drop it on concrete or rocks? I realize that all finishes can mar; I have enough pretty stuff to know that, but I do want a finish that is the least likely to scratch in case something in my purse rubs against it, or I drop it in the gunite swimming pool. (I've dropped lots of things in the pool including phones that have survived. It happens, only rarely, when you have something in a shirt pocket and forget and bend over to empty the skimmer basket.) As long as you retrieve it carefully it won't get scratched up. And get any battery out immediately.) I dropped my first eGo in the spa, a manual battery, took the battery off and blew everything dry, still in spa, a it worked great and is still working, and many months old. I do rotate batteries and only, now days, carry an eGo as a backup. I do love the new T-tanks.

I'm going to email Bruce to find out when he will be getting the AFS part in.

Thanks, Alice

i also own a reo mini... i dropped it once on concrete and the paint chipped in multiple places. like sand paper went at it or something... concrete is terrible to any mod imo. unless there is a rubber lining such as the ones on cell phones, they work really well. with that said i probably wouldn't put any rubber lining on my gg but because the finish is really shiny it's easy to blend scratches in but like the reo u can drop it in water, concrete, and it would still work. someone posted a battery explosion experience in a gg. the built saved his face and the gg still works. haven't read many positive explosion experiences. i love my reo mini it's solid and well made but it's one kind of vaping with different atties and juice.

Actually it's not paint. The aluminum is anodized. That must have been some gouges you got. On some of my old pen tablets, I used to mod, way back, I went to hobby stores and found markers that matched the color and disguised the worn spots. Some of the Fujitsu's were a different blue color and I actually found a marker that matched.

QUESTION..... Which finish and metal is the toughest? Most all aluminum, even aircraft, will show small scratches pretty easily, especially highly polished, even if you never let anything other than your hand touch it, loosely speaking. Would the chrome plated brass be pretty tough and less likely to dent if dropped. BTW.... I've never dropped any of my Reos onto hard surfaces, nor the Don, but the dogs have knocked a couple off of a table onto vinyl tile flooring. Dented the floor (not really; it's commercial tile) but no damage to Reos. The Roughstack has taken many drops, out of my pocket, out in the woods but not concrete; just an occasional rock. Not a mar on it. I wouldn't dare take a Reo, or Don, or GG out to the woods with me. That's Roughstack and carto territory.

The most strong material is anodised aluminium, then steel and then other materials west my friend. The aircraft aluminium is not strong, it just tarnish a little later than other aluminium alloys.

Thanks. Do any of the GGs come anodized? All of my Reos are anodized, except for the Woody and three doors (two Mini doors and one Grand door) that are either polished or brushed. They are fingerprint magnets and do scratch easily. That's one of the reasons Reo, Robert, is not doing the polished and brushed finishes any more. What he calls "silver", now, is a grey powder/buff that is really pretty and tough just like all the older anodized finishes.

I have a lot of other things/objects/tools/equipment, that are anodized, that really take a beating.

Alice, your dogs are very naughty!!:)

The best way to protect a finish is to cover it with a leather case or transparent plastic. I dont see any other way to protect a metal from a hit

Yes, especially the Australian Cattle Dog girls, who just turned one year. The cattle dogs like to steal things. The Labradoodles, just turned two, like to eat furniture and doggie beds. Jake Mastiff, who just turned two, is a perfect gentleman, as is expected from the breed, English Mastiff. And he doesn't drool all that much. We've had packs of English Mastiffs for 30 years, keeping about 6-8 as housedogs. They hardly ever destroyed anything and didn't steal things very often. They respect rules and boundaries but the Cattle Dogs really push it. They are very smart and very sweet and exceptional alarm dogs. They don't miss a thing. I can tell from their barks, when they dash out the big doggie door, what kind of threat it is; car, human, bobcat, coyote, snake, etc... They, also, "talk" a lot and have a pretty big vocabulary of yodels and yips to tell me or the other dogs what they want or observe and they always get the last word in when corrected. They will give a little yodel, as the last word. They were developed using Australian Dingos and you can certainly see the little bit of wild in their genes. It's always exciting and fun around here.
