Short Version:
Has anyone else had this issue? What type of craftsman would I need to find that works with brass to redesign/replace button/lock. I have no intention of sending it back to Greece. I've become quit fond of vaping with 6 volts.
Temporarily, what can I manually rig to vape it now until I find the right person to fix it? I've put the GGT back together except for the screw/bolt/lock. Can I use a small screwdriver to insert in hole and touch the metal the wire is wrapped around to turn it on and remove screwdriver to turn if off. I'll wait for an answer as I don't want to blow the batteries in my face.
Long Version:
I've just returned from feeding (subsidising) wild critters in the back yard. While out there I screwed the bolt up on the screw to lock position, put it in my pocket while gathering bucket (don't tell Walrus) and supplies to bring inside.
Once inside I sat down with a nice cold drink all ready to vape. Pull out GGT and began to vape, what no vapor??? Oh, I forgot to unlock it, so I tried to unlock it and the nut wouldn't move. Confirmed that to unlock you screw the bolt counter clockwise. It wouldn't budge. Sprayed with WD40, tried again, won't move. Oh my!
Brass is soft so I must be very careful. Wrapped end of screw with paper towel and held with left hand. Used pliers with right hand, applied pressure with pliers so that only the bolt was touched. Won't budge with small amount of force. Oh my!
Desperate for a smoke, got my SD out, juiced up and vaped some. Ahh, feel better now. Thank God for the SD but it isn't 6volts.
OK, here we go one more time.
Pulled entire switch/button out of GG shell. Used more WD40, held screw with paper towel/pliers in left hand to keep from turning. Used right hand with pliers applied more pressure, twisting in counter clockwise motion. Won't budge.
Well, left pliers cut into threads, I knew that would happen. Right pliers sqeezed in soft brass nut a bit on one side, was afraid that would happen. Here I sit. Guess I have to find someone that works with brass to redesign the button so that I can use it and this won't happen again.
I am clueless how this could have happened. Absolutely no pressure was used when it was screwed into locked position...none. Screwed it in lock position, put it in my front pocket, walked in the house, sat down and it wouldn't move.... Simple as that. What could possibly have happened???
At this point I'm sure I have crimped the bolt brass into the thread brass on the screw. Nothing to do but have it remade. Thought I would post just in case someone could tell me exactly how to wiggle my nose to restore all as if nothing had happened. he,he,he
