Short Version:
Has anyone else had this issue? What type of craftsman would I need to find that works with brass to redesign/replace button/lock. I have no intention of sending it back to Greece. I've become quit fond of vaping with 6 volts.

Temporarily, what can I manually rig to vape it now until I find the right person to fix it? I've put the GGT back together except for the screw/bolt/lock. Can I use a small screwdriver to insert in hole and touch the metal the wire is wrapped around to turn it on and remove screwdriver to turn if off. I'll wait for an answer as I don't want to blow the batteries in my face.

Long Version:
I've just returned from feeding (subsidising) wild critters in the back yard. While out there I screwed the bolt up on the screw to lock position, put it in my pocket while gathering bucket (don't tell Walrus) and supplies to bring inside.

Once inside I sat down with a nice cold drink all ready to vape. Pull out GGT and began to vape, what no vapor??? Oh, I forgot to unlock it, so I tried to unlock it and the nut wouldn't move. Confirmed that to unlock you screw the bolt counter clockwise. It wouldn't budge. Sprayed with WD40, tried again, won't move. Oh my!

Brass is soft so I must be very careful. Wrapped end of screw with paper towel and held with left hand. Used pliers with right hand, applied pressure with pliers so that only the bolt was touched. Won't budge with small amount of force. Oh my!

:pDesperate for a smoke, got my SD out, juiced up and vaped some. Ahh, feel better now. Thank God for the SD but it isn't 6volts. :( OK, here we go one more time.

Pulled entire switch/button out of GG shell. Used more WD40, held screw with paper towel/pliers in left hand to keep from turning. Used right hand with pliers applied more pressure, twisting in counter clockwise motion. Won't budge.

Well, left pliers cut into threads, I knew that would happen. Right pliers sqeezed in soft brass nut a bit on one side, was afraid that would happen. Here I sit. Guess I have to find someone that works with brass to redesign the button so that I can use it and this won't happen again.

I am clueless how this could have happened. Absolutely no pressure was used when it was screwed into locked position...none. Screwed it in lock position, put it in my front pocket, walked in the house, sat down and it wouldn't move.... Simple as that. What could possibly have happened???

At this point I'm sure I have crimped the bolt brass into the thread brass on the screw. Nothing to do but have it remade. Thought I would post just in case someone could tell me exactly how to wiggle my nose to restore all as if nothing had happened. he,he,he :D:D

Has anyone else had this issue? What type of craftsman would I need to find that works with brass to redesign/replace button/lock.

GG does have a history or button problems...have you experienced any Sparking or "Arching" from the button, i would suggest you remove the batteries as soon as possible! a few have reported batteries exploding while experiencing GG Button problems...Please if you can not remove the batteries place GG in a flame resistant non-metal container till the aproximate time that the batteries have died...please keep the GG as far away from face as possible also as Exploding Li-Ion batteries are VERY DAngerous!

OK everyone, thanks for your concerns. After I posted the above I saw that there is another issue taking place in the sub-forum. Didn't have time to read it well.

But my situation isn't serious at all. I tried to explain it correctly but I guess I didn't. The only problem is that the screw that keeps the button from being pressed....would not unscrew to allow the button to work. I has nothing to do with the button working. There must have been some type of a bur (if that's a word) in the brass that I had never screwed past before. This time I must have screwed it up just a bit higher and the bur caught it. It is the only possible thing I can think of.

Suzi, I've been laughing through the whole thing. It's tremendously funny in a way. But...I want to vape my 6 volt. I'm ready with screwdriver to insert in the empty hole to vape if somebody will just tell me it's ok. I'm sure it must be but not positive. Ok, the switch works when it is pressed and the brass screw goes in and touches the metal piece that the wire is wrapped around. Correct? That's all it does, when you turn it off it just releases from that position. Correct?

No I don't have a camera at the moment to take a good picture but there is really nothing to look at but the nut that won't unscrew and won't move. That's all.

Ride with me, thank you very much but unless I'm really missing something big there is no serious problem.

Somebody tell me how to vape it now, please.

I'll re-read the messages and get back. :D:D:D Stay happy everybody it's not a serious problem. Just an inconvenience...

Nooo... it's not a funny situation at all, Rainy and I wasn't laughing at that. It was vinyl's "lefty locky, righty ignighty" that tickled me.

Hang in there, woman!

Vinyl, OK unscrew the end piece. You turn it to the left (counter clockwise) to open it. That is what I was doing. That is correct, right??

No, there was no arching, no fire, no sparks, no nothing like that at all. There never has been anything like that with the GG. You just have to understand the sophistication of these batteries. That is what I don't understand and that is why I am waiting for someone to tell me if I can insert a screwdriver (a real screwdriver) into the open hole where the button/lock was (i've taken the button/lock off). I believe I can just insert the screwdriver into the hole and touch the metal piece in there and vape and then remove the real screwdriver to stop vaping.

I believe that your problem is that you screw the nut very hard, so

1) If you thought that it unscrews in the diferent way that it really uncrews then you maybe its too tight now (brass gets too tight between them). Or maybe its off its position. That means it is totally unthread it.

2) when we make things to lathe, sometimes a very small piece of metal goes inside threads and if the thread stuck is very dificult or almost impossible to unthread it.

Now your situation is that nut is not moving at all? Then you tried to thread it but not in a straight position and its stuck. Try with a tweezer to make small moves clockwise and the oposite
