I got my GGTB last Saturday from the last contest, and wanted to use it for a few days before I posted. This is absolutely the best PV I have ever used! It is awesome. It is beautiful! I love it!! :) It works great, but I can verify that the grey 17670 batteries do not fit!! I will have to get some of the AW ones. The 14500's work fine. Thanks again Imeo and Mwa! Your the best!! :)

What brand are they? Ultrafire?

Tell me they are not these ones

laurieok, are the batteries the exact same ones? Exact same printing on the battery and everything? Perhaps the design has changed a bit since your ones.

Imeo, I'm thinking that the dimensions on the website may be incorrect, these kind of specs are often exaggerated on DX. Where do you buy the AW batteries? They are very hard to find.

Anyway those DX batteries should arrive soon, I'll let you know if they fit or not.
Hopefulll, if they dont fit, they can still be used for the GGTS at least.

Battery sizes seem to be the GGTB's greatest handicap. Too bad the GGTB isn't 1mm wider! 17670's are apparently not easy to find, and the variations in size make it a hit-or-miss proposition.
There are a number of different 17670's available on Ebay, but whether they fit remains to be seen.
Imeo's statement that battery diameters of 16.9mm or less fit could be an indication that even a 17670 with the (correct) 17mm diameter is too large.
What is the EXACT inner diameter of the GGTB? Inquiring minds want to know :)

I buy from here K2:

AW IMR 18650 Rechargeable Safe Chemistry Battery

Its ok John, no problem buddy

clavit, the inside diameter of GGTB is exactly at 17mm. And battery sizes arent the GGTB's greatest handicap because I could make a thicker GGTB to fit all of them, like the 18650 too. But whats the point then if I made a GGTB like a GGTS in diameter? I tried to make a thin, short, beautiful GG that will take some of 17650 batteries and the AW ones that many people like them.

It's tough to get an accurate measurement but I measured up to 16.99mm on my AW 17670's. Of course they are -not- perfect cylinders and may vary from battery to battery by a tad.

very true, but they are more consistent in their measurements than most other batteries are, including the ****fire. some of those will fit and some won't, same stickers, same stated specs, same everything, and folks will have to buy and try from batch to batch to see just to see if they're lucky enough to get one or two that fit. or just grab the aw batteries to begin with and have the best possible battery in that size, fits the ggtb no problems, true to spec, handles the amp draw of any and all atomizers, and best protection circuitry available for a li-ion.

and thanks rob & michelle for the ggtb and other goodies!!!

outside the US, many will do better to get the full AW line from him directly here: AW's LiIon Batteries Sales Thread *Part 11* - CPFMarketPlace
and imeo, if you are using that IMR18650 in a GGTS, you've got to try the new protected AW18650 2900 mAh, blows it out the water!!!
