Hi All,

Just have a small query. I clean my GGTS #326 and AFS v2 on a regular basis and polish using Cap Cod cleaning cloths. Its just lately I've noticed that the finish on both items appear to have several two toned patches on them.

Does anyone know what can be causing this and how to rectify it?

Thanks,
Jet.

I love cape cod cloths but have noticed that they are better for quick clean ups. I have used flitz and mothers for a more thorough cleaning and use the cape cods for in btwn. hope this helps

Do you guys hand polish? I was thinking about picking up a dremmel tool to speed up my polishing.

Also when using a dremmel be careful as if your not used to machine polishing you'll end up with a wave like appearance when viewed in different light angles as the sisal wheels on the dremmel are small and its really hard if not impossible to get a consistent finish across the whole surface.
A much better way would be a bench mounted polishing wheel but then you have to watch your polishing compounds as to course will leave a crap finish and you have to watch you don't polish out your etching.
I polish all mine by hand and use T-cut for a primary polish i find this lifts all the crud out of the alloy and is not to harsh and then finish with Auto-Sol, i have recently restored number 122 and 526 and they look pretty good (if i do say so myself:p)

I know, they looked beautiful! I've never polished metal before, so a bit of a learning experience here. I bought the dremel, but returned it the next day, didn't like the results I got with the cloth polishing wheel. I did a much better job by hand using brasso. Going to try a couple of the other polishes mentioned in this thread. I have #378 which is aluminum, trying to find a good polish that'll lift the tarnish with ease and also provide a nice barrier to buy me at least a week between polishes. Since I got my UFS I've been using the hell out of this thing:)
