Has anyone tried this? What did you think?

I've tried using 2xCR123a 16340 batteries (they're supposed to be 3.7v but they charge to 4.2v).
I thought it would be the perfect vap but it's way way too much. :(

issues:
1) the heat coming from the mouthpiece actually burns your lips
2) if the atty is not wet enough, you'll get a burnt taste straight away
3) if the atty is too wet, the liquit will insta-boil and boiling juice will come shooting out of mouthpiece
4) it's almost impossible to get the right amount of juice in the atty. It's either not enough or too much.

Guess I'm gonna have to buy some 2x3.0v batteries and charger and vap at 6v... 3.7v just doesn't do it for me.

I tried the I7 on 7.4. I ended up blowing two attys in less than 5 minutes. I put everything together correctly, primed the atty twice (control ring closed) opened the control ring just a little bit (no holes showing). When I hit the button and took a hit poof both times:(.

I used 2 IMR AW 16340 3.7 volt battery's

I then set it up with an I6 atty and 3 volt lifepo 4's battery's with great results.

I would stick with 6 volt and I6's

I have been using the ultra fire 3.7v 16430's - 7.4 with my I7 attys since the GGTS came out a couple months ago and to be honest i love it more then anything! These batteries lasted me since the GGTS was released... I had the I7's last more then a month before. The new I7's are made for the V2 AFS and not for dripping as i see u are using AFS. The old I7 i still have 1 and it still works perfect with 7.4, the I7 only gets hot if you use it alot within a short amount of time. Maybe u might just have a faulty atty :2cool:

I have problems with 7.4v. My atty life is incredibly volatile so far. Ive gone through3 atties in as many days. One of which was literally vape-vape-pop. So it was probably a funky atty.

The other worked fine all day, and the next morning it popped first thing on the way to work. This might have been due to fresh batteries being more than it could handle. These were AW LiMn 3.7s as well.

Going to bump down to 6v and see if the atty life was any better..which seemed to be the case when I used them on my i6s

Long story short... let your freshly charged batteries sit for a bit or start a rotation. I think fresh batteries might be too hot right out of the gate.

At $15.50 an atty I won't be purchasing any more i7's any time soon if ever. Vape vape pop is unacceptable for a product of this quality.

As of now the i6 at 6 volts hits like a tank and is holding up well.

Very soon I will send you the update for AFS so you can use any cheap 901 atomizer friend, no worries:toast:
