GGTS V2 New owner Serial 586 Who needs advice

Hi,

I got my new GGTS V2 last week after several months of Lurking on this sub forum. So far I have been very much impressed.Up until then I have owned the janty 501, The Janty Ego (Got sick of waiting for the Tesla Filter) and now the GGTS, The rolls Royce of all E Cigs!!

There are a few questions though that are puzzling me. The setup that I ordered is below. Could anyone provide some simple advice specifically regarding the control Ring.

I think I was getting the CR which the AVS attaches into confused with the Adjustable Draw Ring (Which I dont think I have),Anywayto cut a long story short:

All of my DSE 901 Atomizers bar one are Dead :( I think the problem is that I didn't Prime any of the atomizers with a "Pre inhale" and I covered the small holes on the CR the whole time while I was vaping out of ignorance as I thought that this was just to tighten the draw of the inhale.

Can anyone advise me:

  • On the Control ring, is it better to leave the 4 small holes exposed when vaping?
  • How does one perform a Pre Inhale prime effectively and safely (For the Atomizer)?

because I am down to my last Atomizer I feel like each inhale is like Russian Roulette.:)

to prime the atty with an AVS there are two options have a read here:

http://www.e-cigarette-wiki.com/index.php?title=AVS#Primary_Inhales

as to how to adjust the CR:

the more it is open the less liquid goes into the atomiser, and the more likely you are to burn it without liquid... but if closed too much you might overfill the collection tank, so it's a matter of finding the right spot where enough liquid is consistently fed into the atomiser. It is of course better not to close the holes with your hand and let the CR handle that...

I typically open between about 1/4 of a turn to 1 full turn, if I feel burnt taste then you need to primary inhale using any of the above linked options....

It is definitely not a good idea to start vaping with a completely dry atomiser, they will burn quickly at higher voltages, not to mention that it's really a game of russian roulette with a lot of these atomisers even from reputable vendors and of reputable brands, they can differ widely from one to the other even in the same batch, so sometimes one can get lemons instead of a good one...

grr the wiki went down for some reason... let's hope it'll be back up soon...

meanwhile the methods are:

1) Almost completely close the CR and do 2-3 inhales without pressing the button, you should feel you're bringing in liquid through the side hole of the atomiser.

2) Open completely the CR and blow into the mouthpiece, this should also prime the atty and put some liquid into the collector tank...

When priming an Atty for my GGTS/AVS what I always always do is I fill it with the liquid I'm going to run in the tank by pouring it right down the Atty and let it run out the Batt end, this insures my wick of getting wet. This way you can never burn a wick first, if you do the Atty will never taste right, I have found doing this with all my Bottom feeding units is best since of course I have burned a wick by not doing this once, that was the last time I ever had a problem period. That wick must get soaked with juice before firing the Atty and it's simple to put your unit together and accidentally hit the button, you almost hit it out of instinct to see if it works and it's not a DOA, so if you do as I say here and prime your Atty this way even if you accidentally hit your button with no juice in the tank your still fine.!

Urbanite,

Why would you ever want liquid in you collector tank to start out vaping, I totally disagree with this statement buddy, I want NO LIQUID in my collector tank to start out vaping a fresh new Atty and a fresh new full tank of juice. I don't see your point in this and I have to disagree here. I think priming the Atty as I posted and starting off like that and no liquid in the collector is best, in fact I never want liquid in my tank if I'm using my AVS Buddy, it sure seems to affect performance big time, in fact I know it does

well... that was the second official priming method that Imeo has proposed... Liquid in the collector tank if there is not too much of it, feeds directly through the bottom of the atty and goes straight on the coil... it has the exact same effect as priming by doing an inhale... works for me and is a bit less hassle than inhaling

mwa, the method that Urba use is a good alternative method if you dont like to suck. You can just blow, it has the same effect. But your way is a very good one too. People can try any method that suits to their needs. We dont reaaly need liquid into the collector tank if we have another way to vape. This tank is made just to keep liquid inside it when atomizer leaks. If your method doesnt allow to atomizer to leak this then its the best.

Thanks for the advice!

Do you mean to actually run all the liquid that is going to be put in to the AVS Container through the Atomizer first?

Whats the best way to do this?

Do I setup the AVS and with the Inserted Atomizer and just at the part where I would normally fill up the tank directly, fill the tank by pouring the juice directly into the Atomizer or are you just talking about a small quick Prime?

Thanks again!
