Looks like the folks at EL.CN have started selling the new "adjusted" (as MicroCig states) Giantomizer. From what I see in the picture (below) the inner base has changed. If you want to compare, look at the base on the Micorcig pic then compare it to the base in the 2nd picture from Giantomizer Unwrapped (also below). The original base didn't extend below the plastic tube, but rested on a metal shelf inside the outer tube - this one appears to be one unit inserted into the outer tube - it may also be due to a photographer finding a shiny base to stand it up on. This is conjecture based on the picture from MicroCig so of course we won't know the truth until we disassemble one ourselves.

A noticable change is the placement of the silicone plug. In the original, the plug rested on top of the plastic tube. Notice in picture 1, the plug is inside the plastic tube. This should help with the overflow leaks that many had.

Hopefully, MicroCig will not object to me sharing their picture.

I got bored today and decided to make hairball's new mod. I cut a giantomizer with a pipe cutter just on the bottom edge of the window. I removed the tube. I took 2 20ml syringes and popped the plunger ends off. I dremelled them out until the base of the giantomizer would fit them. I took one of the syringe tubes and cut it down to fit. Slapped it together and have been vaping myself silly. No leaks!

Hmmm...wonder what has to be done to version 2 besides a new heating coil according to Dougiestyle. That stinks Doug but typical of RS.

It sucks that he put one on a HV source and it blew? I don't think so. I have done scores of clean/refills on many fixed giantomizers without a single coil dying. In fact I think the coils are just perfect, good on bats as not too low resistance and the top location gives a nice warm vape.

I do wish there were other manufacturers in the CE2 type market though. Competition is good for customer service levels ;)

It appears to be official - V2 and there are changes.

This pic from ELCN shows it with a whistle tip. From the pics at the manufacturer (MicroCig) this is the new G-Tip (pic 2).

MicroCig does show the insides in some better shots - Pic one is V2, 2nd is the V1.

Anyone seen a V2 upclose and personal?

The v.2 is in France now.
I've took some pictures of it, after some modding into a Gianto-Clearo (tanks to you, and a spannish tutorial I found, for the trick to pop it up)

IMAG0179.jpgIMAG0178.jpg

On the picture you can see I made a mistake: the plastic tube is too far from the bottom.
So it leaked a little, then I fixed it.

After cutting some holes into the silicon, I got a great amount of vapor.
This does suck a lot of liquid. I think it's better than clearomizers.

The whole build seems to be very strong, and the tip is way better than the v.1

Excellent Ape! Thanks for the pics and the info - I'm looking forward to trying one out. Cool idea to going Clearo on it too.

I am curious about the gold colored base that has been in the MicroCig photos... is that attached to the plastic tube or the CE2 base? I'll probably have to be patient and wait till they make it here.

Thanks again for the info!

The Base is exactly the same of the one from v1.
Mine is silver, and attached to the CE2. So it's a non-standard CE2, and can't be replaced by a CE2 from a clearomizer for example. The only way would be to add a replacement ring to make it fit inside the tube.

I don't know why there is such a big golden base on microcig's pictures. Maybe they took the prototype to take picture of...

Thanks again Ape.

Well, that removes some of the mystique… a prop in the pics. The main change must be to the upper tube length and the G-Tip. We’ll still have to fight that blasted shelf it sits on. I’ve had two 510 extenders get jammed inside and you can’t remove due to the CE2 moving… and one was the one I used the mesh on.

What kind of tube did you use to clearo yours? Was it a syringe?

Not at all, it is the original inner tube from the Giant itself.
As it is upper than the one from the v.1, you can use it as it is.

I guess this way, you will no longer need any adapters, to fit on your ecig mods.
I'm waiting for my Provari next week, it's gona be Awsome for sure :)

But one more time, we have to mod it, in order to get what we want.
If I didn't have cut the silicon pieces, to get more juice, I would continue to run it too dry.
Microcig/RS wanted it to be 100% leak-less, so... by default the juice is not feeding the atty very well (for me).
You can use it as it is (without modding it), but believe me you'll missing something...

The last good thing with this modification, is that you can clean the mesh more easily.
So that your Giantomizer will last more time.

To conclude, I'm definitely throwing my clearomizer away, to keep the "Gianto-Clearo".
It's very very sweet.

Actually, knowing the standard issue tube is the proper length is good news... I hadn't found a convenient replacement for the v1 yet - hadn't looked that hard though. I use my tanks in a box mod (don't find the tube mods that convenient) so with some mods for the G-Tip and mesh for the coil it should be good to go. I've already got the MAP tanks and plenty of CE2 XLs though so I'm set for functionality. I'll have to get a couple to play with just to satisfy my curiosity. Hopefully they don't have the 50% fail rate I experienced with the v1 coming out of the box.

The fails was actually due to :

- inner tube to small, wich causes leakes
- the rubber sleeve was in very short distance from the atty, wich causes burn taste

As you can see on the pictures, those two points are no longer here (the sleeve is correctly placed, and the inner tube is a bit longer). I think the real thing to deal with is the poor-feeding from the tank to the atty. But it can be adjust (thanks Martinez lol)

Sadly, mine weren't simple - one the connector was knocked off center by about 15 degrees (that's the one in the other thread), the other was doa - no continuity. Haven't had a chance to take that one apart yet. Possibly just a bad solder.
