I can understand this must be great news for Diabetics and Mankind investors but why on earth is it good news for e-smokers?...one thing has nothing to do with the other, i mean did he even mention if it was an atomizing device?...at best this might only be a new way to inhale nicotine but even if that was the case it would still be too expensive and only available via prescription most likely...and no vapor to boot (unless its an atomizer).

Because of the technology! Technocrats everywhere are seeing what they can do, what the world needs, and just maybe the world needs some really good technology for ingestion of all kinds of things, medications in particular. But the technology is more and more recognized, and is not being poo-pooed by anyone yet. It opens doors, opens eyes...was just a thought. He called it an inhaler, by the way. A device for inhaling medicine.

It does look like the Janty Stick. :) But more importantly, The FDA is approving the use of inhalers as medical devices much faster than the typical 3 year wait. They kinda get it now, I believe.

Also 2 other Big Pharma companies gave up on the idea, and along comes the little guy to prove them wrong. I guess that it yet to be seen, but good for the little guy story. Also, tobacco companies dumped their production of safer cigs--no demand--it still used tobacco. They are regretting that, as we see Phillip Morris/Altria supporting the Bill that will ban this new competitive threat.

You have to select the video for Mannkind...this is terrific news!!!!!!!!!!!!
It sounds as though they have all expectations of passing both the drug and the device. I emphasized that, because did you get a LOOK AT IT!
It's a Janty Stick!!!!

Well...no, it isn't (a Janty Stick). Did you notice the way that the front of the device drops down for cartridge insertion? However, it may make the use of hand-held vapourising devices more of a commonplace sight than heretofore, perhaps. But it's not a Janty Stick!:)

It also introduces the notion of using a cartridge in the device to provide the drug that is inhaled. Although not directly applicable to PVing, it gets some useful concepts out there.

And I've known some experienced, long-term insulin users that simply continued to hate injecting themselves. A few years ago, a tiny patch with millions of microscopic points from IBM was set to revolutionize insulin delivery. It would be like pressing a microfiber cloth against the skin. It fizzled instead of flying, though. Don't know what happened to the idea.

THANK you sir, now I don't feel like such an idiot. And this is sort of the problem here on this site, people need to back up and get a look at the BIG PICTURE. We get too focused in on our one problem with alternative nicotine, it's not just one problem it's a kaleidoscope of problem(s)! that we need to keep our eyes open and our minds in search mode. There is a way we are all going to reach a goal, maybe by going down the road together with another needy entity.

That is a good post Kate. Maybe if we can ban together, we can become one large voice.

In another thread, there is a possibility that Indonesia could file a complaint with the World Trade Organization regarding the banning of clove cigarettes if the bill passes. The more we broaden our sights, the better off our cause will be.
