First of all, I am at the moment celebrating 4 weeks analog-free after 21 years of PAD abuse. I've been lurking n' learning for a bit, and I feel it's time to officially join up. The community here seems pretty knowledgeable and courteous, and I have come to appreciate this resource as much as my favorite youtubers.

We tried out the Blu ecigs a couple of years ago, and after a valiant effort, fell right back into the old analogs. They just didn't cut it. Then, about a month ago, we decided to give these "ego-t cartomizer kits" a try (you know, the ones with the wicks hanging down in the tank?). They were quite an improvement over the Blus, and it led us to each getting Aspire Mini Nautilus/ Aspire 1600 VV within a few days. I haven't looked back. No interest in cigs at all after discovering this set-up. The wife OTOH...

She's on day 18 at the moment, and even after an upgrade to the eleaf istick 50 watt and a growing library of flavors that she likes, she is still dealing with the cravings. Her birthday is coming up, and I'd like some advice for a possible upgrade over the Nautilus Mini. Here are the criteria:

1) Flavor production.
2) Low maintenance type of tank. She has no interest in building coils and such.
3) Preferably something that can take advantage of her higher powered battery, a 50 w device.
4) Oh, and she's a mouth to lung hitter- it has to mimic her old habit.
5) tank capacity doesn't really matter since she likes to change flavors constantly anyways.

I have been looking into the Atlantis, since we already like the Aspire products we own, but some opinions leave me less than sold on it. I get that it is all subjective, etc, etc. However, I'd greatly appreciate a few other avenues to do some research on. Thanks to any and all who chime in :)

As far as her still having cravings, what mg nicotine is she using? She may need to bump it up a little bit to curb them. I have gone down to 6 mg while at home on my sigelei 100 watt and of course my RDA coil is at .3 ohms which is why I only do 6 mg with that. While I am at work, I need to bring with my MVP 2.0 with a kanger emow tank 1.8 ohm coil using 24 mg nic unflavored to make it through the day while only being able to puff on it during morning break and lunch. Congratulations BTW and Welcome to the Forums!!!!

I would try out a new tank but then get some 24 mg nic juice for her to hit on in her other tank when the cravings get strong. That's what I did. Wanted a smoke, puffed on the 24 mg for a min or 2, cravings went away. I think that might work for her cravings. Also with higher nic comes more throat hit as well. Cant go wrong with the Nautilus Mini, I have one for my flavored juices, and the emow tank for strictly unflavored. Electronic Cigarettes | E-Liquids - MyFreedomSmokes has great 75pg/25vg unflavored 24 mg at a great price. Just some info. for you. Wish I could help out with tanks though but I only have 3. The two mentioned above and the Subtank. They have a subtank mini and nano as well you could look into.

I say the Subtank Mini. I allows for the most options for almost any person. As you travel down the vaping road, you or she may find that you may want more flavor or vapor or both. This tank will allow that to happen. If she watches videos as most of us do and sees how little effort there is to building and wants to give it a try, she can. She can get different colored o-rings for as well if she doesn't like red. The Subox Kit with the matching box and tank might also be a great option. Basically same tank with the same colored mod.

I 2nd this get a bottle of 24mg along with a new tank. I went up to 24mg to stay off the cigs now I am working my way down.

I have been a Nautilus user for over a year using 18mg juice. I recently got a Kabuki tank which uses Nautilus BVC coils and has a fully adjustable airflow. It blows a stock nautilus tank away to say the least..... I had to switch to 12mg juice:)

The Kabuki 510 is pricey but you still can use the same coils as your nautilus minis. Just make sure you get the organic cotton coils with the bigger wicking holes ;) With the Kabuki you can set airflow exactly to what you like and you will be able to go higher on the wattage.

I assume that the subtank mini is the Kanger, right? I've watched a few reviews on that line, and haven't ruled them out by any stretch.

I haven't heard of the Kabuki 510 yet, I'll have to investigate that one. With the same 1.8 coils, wouldn't it face the same wattage restrictions as the Nautilus Mini? It seems like 12 watts is about as high as I can get without getting a burnt taste...

She confided in me tonight that she has had the last two cigs in the house hidden away in the garage for "just in case" but she finally feels no desire to light them up for once. We're getting there.

Aside from the hardware recommendations, there are other components of smoke that are addictive, not just the nicotine. She might find whole tobacco alkaloid (WTA) juice helpful. The brand I use most often is Aroma. I was a 2.5 PAD smoker for 45 years and it helped me a great deal when the cravings hit. They've got some good flavors, might be worth a try. They sure worked for me.

Flavor + Low Maintenance for M-T-L Vaper = Reos Mods.
China is now making Reos Grand style clones for about $30. So the initial outlay to try a Bottom Feeder is no longer an issue. They are nearly indestructible, maintenance involves Hot water - wash and go, and you can swap flavors by swapping out the on-board bottle.
I don't know how the 'Clones' are, but the Reos would give her everything you've described.
And, yes, the Reos Grand with dual 0.6 coils will produce 50 Watts, but it might be a little much for a M-T-L vaper.

The more airflow through the coil the cooler it gets which will keep your juice from tasting burnt. The higher wattage will require more juice which will require a harder draw depending on pg/vg ratio. It a big balancing act but you shouldn't have any problems with going beyond 12 watts with the Kabuki.

Some juice will taste burnt at certain wattages because your scorching the flavoring or the wicking can't keep up. With my present juice I have gone up to 20watts but it's a warm vape and good nic rush yet to boot. I tried 22 watts it started tasting burnt. I could probably gone to higher wattage but would have had to adjust my airflow

Well, unfortunately, if she is a mouth to lung inhaler, a high powered device won't necessarily help. With the lower ohm coils, you need to move the air away from the coils to cool it down, and simply get it out of the atomizer quickly. Mouth to lung inhales don't do that effectively. So, unless she does direct lung inhales, I don't think she'll use the high power of her device.

Even though I've never tried one, I've heard the Nautilus and Mini Nautilus are real good for mouth to lung inhalers. I personally think she has the best tank for her vaping style based on other's reviews. Perhaps you could get her another tank to put a different liquid in it.. maybe something fancy like this:

A lot has been said. I guess, to add, well just read here. Vaping is not the same as hoping a pack, sticking it in the mouth and lighting it. Cigarette makers like lazy people.

For me it has become a hobby of finding good flavor, and there are many, many juice-makers that sell...strawberry, and each is slightly different. Trying juice is fun.

Happy vaping!!
