I thought about getting an e-cig for my father, and also for another smoker friend of mine (both in Italy -in the US I have not a single smoking friend...), but I find that these things are too unreliable and require too much maintenance and foresight. Neither of the two people above seem to me to have the right kind of personality or be at the right moment in their life for this -not to mention being in the right country (one where mail and customes are actually reliable).... As I said before, my father was impressed by my progress (unlike him, I had never tried to quit, or even wanted to, before) and he is trying to cut down through nic patches but, with my mother so ill, I would not even try to push him towards cutting down on cigarettes, if they can help him right now. I am now in Italy and trying to stick with my "two-a-day (real cigs) plus vaping all I want" plan, but I am finding it pretty hard. I have managed 5 days, so far. I'll try to keep up, but I may fall off the wagon.
I htink that gifting e-cigs would do for some people, but others may take it the wrong way, or just not take to it at all....
