I LOVE this thread!! I had stopped smoking 11 years before I started vaping (3 years ago). My husband wanted to see what it was all about and we had just gotten our first vape shop in my town, so I went with him. I was on the HCG diet and was restricted to 500 calories a day. Needless to say, I was craving, well, everything. :) My husband bought his first setup and I bought one, too. I started with fruit flavors but very soon after that I branched out into all sorts of yummy juices. It really did help me immensely with the hand-to-mouth problem, which I never really got over after quitting smoking. I am 3 weeks post gastric bypass surgery and I don't even eat sweet things-I vape them. I do not crave sweet foods at all. I was one who was berated, given the stink eye, blown off as less-than, even at my local vape shop (by the owner!) because I didn't "need" it. Whatever. I wanted, and still do want, to vape. It is an awesome tool and I could really care less what others think of my story. It makes me so happy that you are so aware of your wife's compulsion issues. She is one lucky lady! I hope this works out for her. :)

It's my firm belief that everybody really ought to .... out of everyone else's business. Grown-ups do have the right to make whatever choices they like for their own life, and I resent the hell out of the gov't, or ANYBODY ELSE, trying to make out like we don't. That's the part of being an adult that's actually good, and which we pay for by being responsible and paying our bills and honoring our obligations -- we have the responsibilities, and a certain level of freedoms goes along with that. It's about high time we let our congressidiots know that we know this, and will not accept anything else. I don't need someone to protect me from myself; I'm an adult, and I do a pretty good job of it.

there's several people I've run into at the vape shop that vape 0mg to cut back on sweets (and one we had a long discussion as she's a binge eater, and what I advised her was to get to an Over Eaters Anonymous meetings/and or therapy to figure the "why" out and there's bottles of 0mg behind the shelf get Kevin to help you) :)
it's a common thing..so much so there's an Rx out there (I don't recommend it..that's a psychological issues from past stuff that needs worked out or there's no amount of meds that are going to help and who needs the side effects?)

good luck to you and her and the Kayfun V4..is some easy peasy stuff..I say go with that one. :)

After reading the majority of this thread I support this idea. The whole boredom/hand-mouth fixation is something I've been dealing with my whole life. Started out as biting my fingernails, then during college - pledging for my fraternity I started smoking cigarettes due to "dry pledging " (no alcohol or other substances, campus mandate) as my release. I only started vaping last summer but I was able to quit smoking within a month. And because I could vape indoors, the nail biting went away too.
Another thing that would go along with this alternative to eating would be DIY ejuice. It would keep her occupied and she could come up with new flavors she likes. When I get bored sometimes I'll take a look at the flavors I have and make a new recipe. That way, she could vape exactly what she wants, when she wants & spend the time making the juice as well.
Hope everything works out

The first two months I was vaping, I managed to lose weight because I was enjoying the flavors so much I stopped eating desserts and snacks. I still use the same evening vape (a peanut butter brownie) and desserts are few and far between now. I've branched out to other flavors and just don't snack on junk any more. Good flavors helps a lot. Zero nic and a slightly higher VG level will mean she will probably not get any throat hit - just an enjoyable, tasty vape. It's definitely worth a try.

I totally forgot that this thread was here. A few days ago, my wife decided that she was going to take one of my mods, being that I had 5 sitting on my desk. She's tried tasting some of my mods and the juices I've been vaping. She smoked for a couple of years a little over 20 years ago, quitting cold turkey just before she got pregnant with our daughter. I suggested that she could vape 0 mg juice, but she wanted a little nicotine for the increase in alertness and improved focus (she works as a nurse). So I set her up with a Nautilus Mini on my iStick 50.

And I have a friend who is a nonsmoker, and have never smoked before. She is on a pretty strict diet, where she is avoiding all sugar and carbs. She started vaping so she can taste all the cakes, pastries and sweets that she can no longer eat.

OP, have you decided on something? Let us know. :)
well I got her all setup but unfortunately I've been working every night since so we haven't had much time together (I've got to find a better job). Anyway I know she is using it but I don't know if it's working for her.

This is going to be a very contrcontroversial thread but pleas keep it respectful.

My wife is a non smoker but she does have a destdestructive habit of binge eating either out of bordome or stress. This is something she has struggled with for a long time and today I suggested trying a pv without nicotine. She is open to the idea but sceptical. I told her she could try one of mine so if it doesn't work out there is no loss. I am planing to give her a zna 50 I don't use but the issue is what to put on top. I have a substantial collection of rdas and a kayfun 4, I'm leaning towards the kayfun for the convenience but either way I'm concerned about giving her something so advanced right off the bat. Since I'll be handling most of the maintenance, would this be ok or should I look around? I'd hate to buy something new when I've got so much collecting dust. The other issue is TH is there anyway to get it with 0 nic, for this purpose does it even matter? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't understand. Does she live somewhere else or something?
If she lives with you, it should just be a matter of her trying out your stuff.
As for throat hit, there's mint types; I find clove has some throat hit; but maybe she'd be more interested in the bakery type flavors and not so much the throat hit; smokers look for throat hit and she's not a smoker.

She'd perhaps like the facier flavors; halo has a chocolatey one called shamrock.

Might be a good idea to set up a few flavors for her to try.

My daughter is a nonsmoker, but wanted her own mod to vape flavors with no nicotine. She finds it relaxing while she studies for college. She even convinced her tobacco smoking BF to start vaping.

I once worked for a vape shop that had a flavor sample bar. I had a couple of professional bodybuilders who came in to investigate vaping 0% nicotine for the flavors to decrease their desire for sweets while training for a competition, as their diets during training are quite strict. They tried a bunch of flavors at the bar but didn't buy anything at that time. I think they were just in to research the idea.
