I have no scientific basis for the following caveat. I have heard, and I believe, that vaping something with hydrogen peroxide on it, or the residual left behind, is less than optimum for ones respiratory system.

I wondered about that too glowplug and did a bunch of reading on it when I started vaping this cotton. I did that a year ago and don't have links anymore. I came to the conclusion that a bit of hydrogen peroxide was not going to harm me.

There's a lot of bunk about the advantages of hydrogen peroxide on the net. I don't agree with inhaling it or drinking it for any supposed health benefits. But considering the small amount I'm inhaling, I'm not worried about it.

The new rage is the cosmetic pads from Japan (I believe that is right) that are 100% organic, pure cotton. I was thinking of grabbing the cotton left over when a field is harvested but then I figured I would get all the pesticides. So I buy cosmetic cotton and call it good.

Pure Cotton - Koh Gen Do | Sephora

This stuff is very good. It tastes great from the first hit. The way the fibers are aligned makes it much easier to pull the wick through a coil - even a Mundy's Magic Wire coil. KGD cotton also makes it easier to make my wicks with consistent thickness. No more touchy/feely guessing how much to pull from a cotton ball.

Don't give up if it really comes down to it you can buy coils on eBay for cheap it's trial and error I picked it up pretty fast (within a week) and after that I've just been experimenting with all kinds of different wires and coils it's not a burden it's a hobby but it's not for everyone I suppose you can get 1 good build to last you months if you use cotton and dry burn you coils clean every once in a while.

Yea genesis tanks just aren't worth it.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

why do so many people believe that a genesis tank HAS to be set up with SS mesh??? I use 3mm silica in the tank to the build bed, a wad of cotton on top of that with a nano horizontal coil laying in the cotton. Cotton stays "dripper" wet and makes clouds like my Holloween fog machine...

OK, what's this nonsense about setting up a Genisis tank with anything other than SS mesh ??

Can't be done.

Should not be done.

Silica ... I mean it's sacrilege :matrix:

As a new user of RDA/RBA's of about 7 days, I have had the exact opposite experience. It took me three builds on my Trident to get a dual coil setup that I'm happy with. And it turns out most of my problems were the way I was wicking it.

I just got a Kayfun yesterday. I followed along with a YouTube video from RubyRoo and had the best quality vape I've ever had in one build attempt, took me about 10 minutes.

There don't seem to be a lot of secrets from what I can tell. Between all the YouTube resources alone, I've learned just about everything I can imagine I'll need to know about building coils.

Maybe just clear your head and stop over thinking it.

Auxsend, with your success with your KayFun then you are ready to go to Vape heaven by getting a Reo Mod with a RM2. Just saying!!

Lol, I had a hard enough time convincing my wife to let me get my current setup. I had started on an EVOD2 kit, but a guy at my local b&m let me try an RDA. The difference was night and day. At the moment, I couldn't be happier with my set up, but I do see a lot of you guys talking up the REO stuff. Hey, my birthday is coming up?

I'm curious about these, I especially like the part about eliminating some of the guesswork, do I have enough, is that too much, etc -- but they're actually woven cotton? What do you do, cut them into strips or something? I might have already ordered some, but for not knowing how to handle them.

Thx

It never amazes me, someone starts a thread like this.

"I tried and tried and can't do it. I give up."
People instantly try to help. The OP never comes back to the thread.

I think I see the problem.

Part of the problem may be disregarding such a good resource as ECF... he's been a member since 2010, and has 29 posts? I think I had 29 posts in my first 24 hrs. :D Maybe more, I dunno.

A resource like this is only useful IF YOU ACTUALLY USE IT.

I think the first coil I ever made vaped at least somewhat -- in one of my T3S tanks. So by the time I got a kayfun, I knew how to build coils. I wouldn't have bought a rebuildable if I didn't know how to use it! I mean... DOH! And yep, the wicking is by far the hardest part, and my own search for "the perfect wick" goes on, kinda hit or miss...

My only problem is that I have a hard time getting 2 coils to come out *exactly* alike, for use in a dual setup. But I don't like dual coils anyhow, so I guess it's not really a huge deal.

also it seems like cotton has a nasty taste? using 365 organic cotton from whole foods.

Totally normal man. I thought the same thing the first few builds I tried with cotton. I would get this strange earthy almost burnt-ish taste. Spoke to the guy at the vape store and he told me that there is a big difference between burnt hits and that earthy weird flavor. He told me that the strange earthy flavor is just the cotton itself and goes away after 10-20 puffs. Sure enough went home and ran some juice through it and within 10 hits everything was tasting amazing. You could also try pulling off the cap and cycling some juice through it before you start vaping. Works well too.

Think positively......how many OTHER people who don't ask the question, don't start a topic, DO get to read these posts, get all this good advice, etc.

It's not wasted just because the OP doesn't "come back". These topics help a lot of other people, whether the actual OP gets helped or not.
