After having to send 3 out of 4 batteries back for replacement and not getting them for the long week-end I was at my wit's end. I found this forum signed up and thanks to all the great folks on here decided not to give up but to move ahead, decided on the Joye 510. I was ready to take the leap when I stumbled across a website that had several starter kits for the 510 and the 520. After several emails back and forth this week-end with the owner Jeffery I placed my order for the 520 manual. Not only did he give me a couple choices based on my needs and wants but he advised me NOT to buy all the goodies I was looking at to go with. Said I needed to get used to ecigs instead of analogs and to go slowly until I was comfortable. :ohmy:I did pass on some stuff now but thanks to his honesty I will be a loyal customer. He could have so screwed me, I mean he knows I bought a Blu without much research, but he didn't. Kit should be here by the week-end, wonder if it'll beat my battery replacements? :p

Not exactly, 520 doesn't have the super long battery life of eGo, it is a bit longer and slimmer than the 510 with a much longer battery life. Better suited for heavy smokers due to battery and it holds more juice. No cone cover like eGo looks more like analog except I ordered mine in black. Manual or auto choice I went with manual.

I'm not sure , everything is compatible with 510. I ordered mine from wordupecigs. I was looking at 510 and this caught my eye. I ordered the pcc starter kit. I also looked at eGo but since I'm quitting a 32+ year habit I figured I'd stick with more analog type. I am currently trying to persuade hubby and son to go vapor but since I have a Blu they tried it and don't really get it.

The blu looks cool and I had been toying with ecigs to help me quit and an ad for Blu popped up one night on my browser. I fell in love with the look and the promises so I jumped. I'm glad I did because I know I can do this now, but the issues with equipment are frustrating. On the other hand fairly cheap way to figure out what this is all about and what I want from it.

Yes and no to the "cheap". As I recall, I paid $60 for the starter kit, $10 for an extra battery, and $25 for 5-5 Packs of extra cartridges, for a total of $95. I recently bought a complete Mega eGo kit including 2-mega 900 mAh bats, 2-mega cylinder atomizers, 1-5 pack of mega cylinder cartridges, USB charger, 1-cartomizer (don't know if or how I'll end up using this), a nice eGo case, and some juice, all for less then I paid for the Blu. Got it at Domestic Vapor.

I went with the Blu and a KR808D for my first order. Both arrived within 24 hours of each other and I LOVED the Blu bot one of the batteries was DOA. So I had to pack up the entire kit and return it. By the time it came back, the KR808D had me in its clutches, but it was still hit or miss on if Id get a good "hit" or not. Tried going back to the Blu but found I didnt like the flavors anymore...sigh.

Then I found ECF and realized I needed a 510. I have tried to use the KR808D and the Blu since then but neither is very satisfying now. Once when I screwed up and let both my batteries run out on me, I tried to go back to the Blu, but it was so frustrating that I found it was better NOT to vape than to use it even as a temporary replacement.

lisabsn, i'm glad Jeffrey took good care of you. With a 5yr warranty on the blu, I'd use it just enough to keep burning stuff up. Then when your in the neighborhood, get new stuff. Just to get your money's worth. :)
I really hope you enjoy your 520

edit.
Oh, I got you confused with another thread I've been following. You don't have the 5 yr warranty do you? Reading about a woman who spent $400 at a kiosk for a "Smoke Free". Her issues are just like yours. But she's supposedly got a 5 yr warranty.... or until she pulls all her hair out.... whichever comes first.

I gave up on the Blu as well. Moved on to the 901, then the 510, before settling on the Mega eGo. Everything I want in an e-cig.

I'm with you. I also started with the Blu. One of my wife's friends ordered the same time I did. I loved the idea, hated the product. After doing some research I went with a 510 and saw the light.
My wife's friend however quit e-cig altogether because of her bad Blu experience. Now she won't even try a 510. That's why I really don't like this company. If you're going to offer up a great idea like switching to e-cig, don't make your product a total POS! Come on, really… for $60 it could be a lot better. I wonder how many potential vapers are lost to this poorly made product???

I started with a Blu also, back in Feb and quickly moved on to models with bigger batteries to cut down on the recharging and also cut down on the refilling/switching carts.

I looked at wordup's 520 - definitely looks like mega 510 batts, attys, and carts. That's what it says they are. Pretty cool though, I would have preferred this kit over my original 510 kit.

Now, it's all a pass through and a 900mAh eGo batt for when I'm not near a power source. Still not willing to give up the "look" and get a mod, guess I'm either stubborn or vain or both ;)

If I hadn't found this site and did my homework I would have given up too. I seriously considered the Ego but I think the 510/520 is going to be a better fit.A bit smaller and lighter, I have a back-up Krave disposable which I picked up on the morning of the Blu battery death and my pcc went dead. I was driving to one of our outlaying offices for 1/2 day clinic and I refused to buy analogs. I did not want my pt.s to smell smoke on me, anyway, disposable tastes rough, vapor is really good but it is huge! Weighs a ton and feels very clumsy for me. I have pretty small hands so small but powerful is my thing.

Bought the Blu 'bout a month ago and was disappointed as well. Bought some atty's from Volcanao, that helped quite a bit. Of course I never should have had to buy someone else's atty. In the meantime, got the 510 and I'm happy with it. Much of my Blu's performance was due to my inexperience with being a vaping newbie. Not a huge fan of the Blu, but it still has a place in my vaping arsenal. Given the advertising budget Blu must have, a better product might be warranted.
