This Forum and all the others dedicated to vaping would benefit 'the cause' greatly if they all had a forum section titled
'Junk Journalism' with a big 'caution' sticky at the top
"these trash articles are designed to provoke reaction-are ill informed-poorly researched (if at all?), and more importantly they are also 'pay per click sites'"
by opening the link you help to fund garbage like this.
Best to focus on positively 'rubbishing' trash like this by consigning it to the 'waste-land' where it belongs.

(I'm going to make a concerted effort to stop opening links if I think they're negative)
In the meantime,,,,,,this is my favourite quote from the first link

"electronic cigarettes also produce secondhand smoke, inhaled by both the user and people around her"

OH RLY ? :?:

Shouldn't the links in this thread have been broken? That's the first step.

Then, I like Orb's suggestion to precede these links with a WARNING: JUNK ARTICLE notice.

Then, perhaps the OP might include a few relevant quotes from the article (keeping w/in copyright restrictions), so no one else needs to click without knowing the consequences*, unless rebuttal comments are called for.

*I didn't know about the pay-per-click thing. Yikes...

Yeah ... Links should be broken on Junk Science posts.
Agree it was nice to see the WARNING note in the post.

Replace the URL with the following...broken up on 3 lines just like below

http://
tinyur
l.com/n2yw9jz

That doesn't work in Chrome: when I select these three lines as a block and copy and paste them into the Chrome address bar, they are glued together and go to that location anyway. Spaces break the links better.

Breaking the link so Google can't see that WE posted it takes away any Google Juice
for junk science articles.

A number of ways to break links and placing blank space bar key-presses
at specific points will do the trick. The important thing is when the URL
is pasted in a post ... it does NOT create a clickable hyperlink

So many of the links today are really long so what I did was take the original
long link and convert it to a short link then broke it up. Doesn't need to be on
separate lines to hide it from Google ... Just needs to be a link that we put together
so Google doesn't recognize it as a link.

When ya create a post with a link ya think is broken ...
Click on Preview Post ... If you can click on the link ... Its NOT broken.

Guess the best rule of thumb is ...
If ya don't know how to create broken links ... just don't try to post junk articles
realizing others are searching every day for articles to post ... and let them
post the junk with broken links.
:p
