You do NOT want to cover the ends of the vertical coil. It defeats the purpose. ;-)
With cotton balls I basically filled the whole surface of the deck to keep it packed tight to the coil. With yarn I didn't need to as I could wrap the coil fairly tightly.
Did you use 30g wire or a larger diameter to get 4-qpwraps to equal 1.2 ohms?
I did 9-wraps of 28g kanthal, around a 1/16" drill bit to get 1.1 ohms... (The 1/16" bit also fits into the air-hole to keep the coil centered while tightening the legs AND packing the cotton. ;-)
If it want to flood on you you have two methods of correction. Packing more into the inlets or packing tighter to the coil.

I need to use a different drill bit, the one i have is too large and requires less wraps resulting in tiny 5/6 wrap MCs. I have a case of them at home, but i realize now that they should be smaller.
The flooding concerns me. Up till now its been improper wicking causing harsh dry hits and leaking. I think i am using 29g.
Maybe i should wait until i build a larger (more wraps) coil?

While risking ruining a working build, I'll take some pictures of my Fogger coil setup later tonight. Sorry I couldn't do it sooner, I'm low on time right now. Basically, do what jac said. You'll want a 1/16th drill bit for sure, it fits perfectly in the air hole. The "bottom" leg can go into a hole on the side of the insulated positive post, you may need to turn/twist it around to align the hole by using the post screw (it spins rather easily). Just make sure the length of wire doesn't go past the hole on the other side or you'll short it out on the side of the deck. For the amount of cotton ball, just fluff it out some and pack it everywhere except above, below, or in the coil. You don't really need any going out the liquid intake slits as long as it's packed right up to that area. Get some liquid on your cotton before putting the rest of it together, and of course test your coil resistance and make it glow before adding cotton or anything else. One more tip, the clear o-ring is easier to install under the chimney if you slide it down over the chimney tube once it's partially screwed on. There are pictures for all of this already, but again... short on time at the moment. Good thing I type fast! BBL, and good luck.

For the first time since I started vapingim having serious sinus issues. Like when I used to smoke kinda sinus issues. Back then, this would happen on the order of every 6 weeks or so. But haven't had the slightest sinus issue since..well... about this time last year. Until now. Time to bust out the Mucinex and Puffs Plus with Lotion!

You can try that micro-coil... I don't have the highest hopes for it unless you just run it normal with a cotton wick. I've really enjoyed my last Frogger build of that type. I'm loving the verts a li'l more though I've found it to be finickier... (The cotton yarn has been my best Frogger vert. Cotton balls for the 91%)
