I am inspired by all the kanger rebuilding going on here. I have to invest in better 'reading glasses' to start with...the first time I tried to make a coil (for an evod), I couldn't see anything - too little. Gave up on it at that point, but now that I also have a protank, I'm going to take this project up again.

Hmm, anyone ever try to put new polyfil in a carto? I wonder if it can be done. Rolled guaze would work. I have used that before in my coils. Of course I don't know if you could pull the old fill out without damaging the coil. Might be a project for tomorrow

lol - yeah, it's gotta be the reading glasses!

I watched one of those youtube videos on protank rebuilding and it looked 'clear as day' to me...then I tried in real life and my old eyes were no match for it. It was impossible for me to see anything clearly. They always make things look better in the movies

So Now need to start getting ready for "My" Older Sister & BIL who are coming to Visit a couple of days before they go on a cruise to the Caribbean - Hope they don't get "sick" . . .

Very good! Be prepared to replace the cotton much sooner than silica. May you avoid a dry hit, burning cotton can cause cacophonous coughing!

Thank you! I will keep practicing, I want to replace all the wicks in all my heads with cotton.

#3 Morning all, Lovely setups you have Daleron and good luck Monica. So you just slid some cotton in the protank coil? How cool. Hmmm, maybe I should try that. I still have one or 2 protank coils.

Yeah, I watched different videos of a few different folks doing the cotton rebuild on protank coils. I just took one apart and gently took the silica wick out with a pair of tweezers, then rolled up a bit of cotton and put it back in the coil. I kept checking the ohms on an Itaste vv v3.

There are threads here on the forum about rebuilding protank heads with cotton too, and of course lots of youtube vids about it.

I know it, I use a magnifying glass/and or reading glasses too!

I also have to use a magnifying glass with a light(I found it at a thrift store for cheap) & also some "helping hands".....I have only done a few for the Octopus...Those are the easiest I think....I will have to try doing one of those....

I have an old T3 I'd luv to rebuild. I bought a brand new head and the thing doesn't work at all. I've heard that they're easy but I'm intimidated!
