Just two more days left to shop!

I'm glad that the only things I need to buy are groceries--and that's bad enough two days before Christmas.

So, what is everyone doing for Christmas?

I know this might sound depressing, but I'm alone this year. My parents are more than 3000 away on the west coast (San Diego), and my SO is in Minnesota (LDRs are tough). My holiday will be spent cooking, hanging out with my dog, and watching British television specials (Doctor Who, anyone?). It's not as sad as it sounds. . .

Today is going to be a busy day. I did sleep in, that felt good, but I feel like I could sleep another whole day!

I've had holidays like that, Tony. Enjoy the company of your dog and get on the phone to your loved ones! A quiet holiday can be very nice!!

Good morning Treefam...it's so early.....but I was too excited to sleep....... I went out shopping yesterday and got the last few things I needed for Christmas dinner....so now all that's left is finishing baking & wrapping.....

If your place is anything like mine, it will soon start to smell very nice at your house! There is a lot of baking and cooking preparation going on here today and it smells wonderful in here.

I have some pies to make & some more cookies...I ate all my oatmeal cookies last weekend.....that's about all that I can do today...

My sister is coming over today to do some (more) baking. On today's list, I'm told, are almond lace cookies, elephant ears and "some kind of lemony bars". Holy cow...must show some restraint!!!

It won't be bad at all. In fact, I honestly enjoy the solitude. I love my family, but family plus holidays plus too much booze is a recipe for disaster in my family. . . (Okay, I do miss my SO!)

So much baking going on in this thread. . . I can almost smell it! Pie crust is the next thing on my list (for the pecan pie that I'll make tomorrow).
