1- Contraz to the winner, work up to some disturbing news, at least for me about a vet in a stand off with the SWAT in KY. Sounds like they got him in custody. here is the link to some of the news of it all. So sad and disturbing for us vets that have PTSD, and the ways that the VA tends to view us is horrible.
Anyways sorry for the rant there, just sad and so so many of us vets can look at this situation and can see ourselves falling into a situation like this.

Well I was 3hrs late for work today. Didn't hear my alarm. Then when I went to leave my house and discovered in the storm last nite a tree branch came down and hit the side of my Jeep, broke the mirror off an put a big dent in the top of the door. What a way to start the day.

What a bummer JPF..I am sorry you are have a bad day....I know I hate it when things go like that.....
Sky...I agree with you and I don't like the way they treat Vets either(no I am not one), but this time of year makes everyone go a little more crazy/depressed...etc...(as Uncle has already mentioned)...I have been ducking down every time I hear jet fly over for the last few weeks..I just noticed I was doing it & realized why......There hasn't been "the big story" this Christmas yet....what's it going to be???? I am nervous & a little more afraid to go out shopping this week. I have some last minute groceries to get...but I don't want to....

4: Vent away, the way vets are being treated is horrible. And they are using many a lame excuse to illegally take firearms from vets so they can not defend themselves or the country. I will stop short here and not go on a rant, but there is a reason behind taking them that is not good for us.

That was mostly for GMO, but if it helps anyone else that's even better. I figured you knew that sort of stuff already...
DNC: I know a fair bit, but not all and it never hurts to have a refresher course. Besides there will always be brand new vapers that need that kind of information.

I've mentioned that I've been baking a lot the last few days. So, some baking humor. . .
My Sister's Christmas Rum Cake
Every year around this time, my sister makes an attempt to create what she says is her masterpiece of culinary delight (in fact, she usually makes two or three attempts) but alas, I have yet to sample even a tiny morsel of it.
Here is the recipe she uses:
1 or 2 quarts rum baking powder
1c. butter 1tsp. soda
1tsp. sugar lemon juice
2 large eggs brown sugar
1c. dried fruit nuts
Before you start, sample the rum to check for quality. Good, isn't it? Now go ahead. Select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc. Check the rum again. It must be just right. To be sure rum is of the highest quality, pour one level cup of rum into a glass and drink it as fast as you can. Repeat. With an electric mixer, beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 seaspoon of thugar and beat again. Meanwhile, make sure that the rum is of the finest quality-- try another cup. Open second quart, if necessary. Add 2 arge leggs, 2 cups fried druit and beat till high. If druit gets stuck in beaters, just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the rum again, checking for tonscisticity. Next sift 3 cups of pepper or salt (it really doesn't matter which). Sample the rum again. Sift 1/2 pint lemon juice. Fold in chopped butter and strained nuts. Add one babblespoon of brown thugar, or whatever color you can find. Wix mell. Grease oven and turn cake pan to 350 gredees. Now pour whole mess into the coven and ake. Check the rum again, and bo to bed.
Now you know why.....

#4 I think I've read that one Tony, always good for a laugh. I did some non-alcoholic baking last night myself. Cheesecake, cherries or strawberries will go on top when it's served. It came out great, but it's not for me. Way too rich for my blood.
#4 yay the broncos arent the top scoring team this week,football contest nullified!!!!oopsy(edit) the fine folks in that contest let me in GMO and UNCLE included.......I needed a good laugh since Kristin is going to her cancer doctor next week and I am scared as hell,I wouldnt want to live without her......she is all I have. I really appreciate the support from you all,it keeps my spirits up. By the way I have been working on my writing and am looking into applying for a patent on a vape related supply......sort of a juice device.....we shall see...
