I'm Gluten Free and have read what little info there is here on DYI flavoring and who to buy from but because this issue is so important to my well being I also need to verify what I read on the Vendors sites. So I wrote them regarding their flavoring. I was very surprised with the reply due to the fact that I read Perfume Apprentice and Capella are Gluten free vendor/flavoring.

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting us as we appreciate the opportunity to attend to your health needs. We appreciate the time you took from your day to provide us with the detailed information so we could be sure to consider all aspects of your concern!
Our Nature's Flavors line of flavoring is the only manufacturer we carry that is gauranteed to be gluten free in all the flavors, as they are specifically made to gear towards being gluten free. All of the other manufacturers we carry do not design their flavors to be 100% organic and gluten free, and they may or may not have traces of gluten components.

Nature's Flavors is all organic, gluten free and they are also vegan and kosher. http://naturesflavors.com/ingredients/juice-concentrates/organic-juice-concentrates

The ingredients are organic flavoring, Vegetable Glycerin, and organic ethyl alcohol.
You may view our Nature's Flavors line at the following link: http://www.ecigexpress.com/flavors/natures-flavors.html
Thank you again for contacting us so that we could best assist you in your vaping needs. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you and have a great day!

Regards,
Mariel

We have several of Natures Flavors flavorings in our possession. They are indeed good flavors that tailored them not to the ecig world (at least not originally) but toward human consumption. (Coffee flavors, deserts, etc). They even opened up a diacetyl free flavors as well. Their flavors also are not overly sweet. The down side is you may need more drops/higher percentage to achieve a diy to satisfy you.

The downfall is they take a while to ship. But that's due to them giving you fresh extractions. So it's a double edge sword.

Not sure if you intended a question to be added to your post, but those are my two cents.

Maybe they scanned an article like this http://www.glutenfreedietitian.com/newsletter/flavorings-extracts-are-they-gluten-free/ and didn't really understand it.

Since we use flavorings meant for food and that is under the jurisdiction of the FDA and since gluten grains are considered a potential allergy component, a flavoring supplier that didn't state it contains a gluten containing grain product on the label would be in violation of the law.

I cannot imagine why a manufacturer would use gluten in creating a flavor. It is not a flavor component and they don't use any other proteins for the same reason...it's not part of the flavor. So it seems even less likely to be in artificial flavorings to me.
