GLV2 keeps blowing attys

Not sure whats going on here, just started doing this like an hour ago. 1 blew that i had been using most of the day. I put a new 1 in, added a couple drops, took 2 puffs, blew it. Repeated with 2 more attys and they both blew too. Any ideas anyone?

You might need to use a HV atty 3.5 ohm, that is what I'm using my atty is going strong 9 days now on the same one.

I've been using regular resistance attys on my GLV for over 9 months (never tried HR), and have had some bad luck with attys along the way, but never where I blew 3 in one day! There may be something wrong with your resistor, but I'm no expert on that.

I've found that genuine Joye 510 attys work best/longest for me, I typically get 2-3 weeks out of one, although I have had some that have blown in a day or two that is usually a rare occurrence.

Make sure that your atty is nice and wet, I usually blow out any primer first, then prime with 6 drops of juice, wait a couple minutes and vape away. Sometimes this starts off a bit flooded, but I stopped blowing brand new attys once I primed them really good before first use.

I use cartos exclusively now but I use 2.5 ohm 510s sometimes at 5 volts with no problem. I don't know who makes Puresmoker's attys but for $10.00 a piece you'd think they could take it. On the other hand their SR atty is rated at 2.2 to 2.4 ohms which is at the lower end of the range for 5 volts for sure. If they were working a 2.2 ohms you'd be pulling 11.36 watts at the coil and that's pretty darn high. My standby menthol tobacco juice starts to burn a little if I go over 10 watts.
To tell you the truth I prefer to buy from venders that tell you who manufactures their attys and cartos. That way you have a better idea what you might be getting.

I had the same problem, went through almost 10 atty's and I ended up sending it back in. Jay put a new resistor on it.

so basicly if your resister is gone you are running at 7.4 volts, if your are using 2 3.7 batteries.

Ok, i was thinking i had a bad batch of attys.

The blowing attys stopped, but i have also been getting horrible taste on almost all my juices. I am guessing now that the resistor is bad hence burning my juice.

This just happened making me really believe that it isnt the atty's: I just put brand new batteries in, and i am getting the horrible taste back, that i havent been getting for the last several hours on the day old used batteries.

I assume i was getting less power from the draining batteries, therefore not blowing the atties or burning the juice. Does this sound about right?

Can someone tell me how to test the voltage, or wattage, or whatever it is i need to check with a multimeter? I'll go over my dad's and use his tomorrow before contacting Jay just to make sure.

Edit: Just checked unit and batteries with voltmeter..battery was reading 4 volts..unit was reading 8 volts..obviously resistor is bad.

If the resistor were not working , the GLV would just not work. 8V is correct. The resistor does not kick in until the circuit is complete. The circuit is not complete until the atomizer/carto is connected. The meter does not draw power it only reads whats available. The atty/carto does, and that is what makes the resistor kick in. 9 times out of 10 its a bad batch of attys. I know it sounds silly that you could get so many in a row that are bad, but trust me it happens. I would love to take look at it for you. Are you sure you have a resistor ? Iv had people order 6v and use x 2 3.7v batteries..that can blow them for sure. Give me a call tomorrow, maybe we can trouble shoot it over the phone. 248-346-3205.

I was going to mention this too...... as well as that if they purchased both the 5v AND a mini to make sure not to mix up the head cap units between the two.

I had one that has blown a resistor and Jay fixed it for me -- sometimes there's a bad resistor, what can he do? My resistor lasted for a week and then blew 3 attys also, very frustrating until I figured it out! I am a chain vaper so I always put heavy stress on my pvs.
