I bought a bottle of Glycerin from a local super market. I looked at the ingredients to make sure it was at least 99.5% glycerin, which it is. The label shows its a Skin Protectant. It does show that it is USP, not sure what that means, but I was told it needed to be that. I was searching for Glycerin and came across a kind at Joanne Fabrics. It stated it was to sweeten frosting, or something like that. Does anyone know if the kind I bought will do the job? Thanks much........

Yes, you have the right kind and yes glycerin is used in cooking. My mom used to use it all the time in her frostings, (she made cakes and decorated them ) so dont forget to make a delicous cake!! share with your friends too.. snort

USP is 'food grade' and that's what you need to vape. I'm a bit concerned about the 'fabrics' reference though, and it also says it's used to 'sweeten frosting'?

Is it Vegetable Glycerin you bought? If so, sounds like you're all set! :)

thanks for the replies...good to hear i dont have to waste it....Domino, Here is the link to Joanne Fabrics to show what i was referring to......

USP is United States Pharmacopoeia(Pharmaceutical) Grade. All that means is that it's considered clean enough to use for its indicated purposes without being gunked up with fragrance, extenders, flavorings etc. It's as glycerin as glycerin gets.
Now, that sounds good, but Humco Glycerin is USP, but not good for vaping. It seems to have made some people nauseous. My own preference is for vegetable glycerin, which does have a sweet taste. I was having a bit of a shortness of breath problem with propylene glycol.

Did your chest feel tight and were wheezing? My husband just started vaping last night and woke up saying he felt like he had smoked a pack and a half before he went to bed. He's been having chest pains all day and when he vapes it gets worse (he's asthmatic also)

It could be that he's having an allergic reaction to the pg, try to find some pure vg juice or a pg/vg mix and see if that helps

What type and brand of cigarettes are they and how many a day?

Also, what strength is the juice?

(The one thing I don't recommend is even a single tobacco cigarette.)

Cignot (no, I can't post a hyperlink yet) has Eco pure, BASIC and "other VG." I think lots of suppliers are carrying vg liquids now, but cignot is always the first one I think of. Are you talking about purchasing the flavored liquid or DIY?
just ordered him one bottle of the "other vg" and one of the ECOpure to test them out :)

He smokes marlboro reds.... he just switched to vaping last night. He smokes about two packs a day. I only bought him the analogs because I didn't want him to keep vaping and not being able to breathe and end up in the ER. I tried him on 36mg Marl/boro from TW, 18mg mixed (pg/vg) from viking vapor, and 24mg from litecigusa is what he was vaping with all day today.

I hope the VG is helping. I can't help much, and I'm not familiar with many suppliers. I get my things from vapor4life, but I did notice they do have a few VG flavors.
For me, I noticed I was able to vape a little bit less by making sure I had the right strength of nicotine. In other words, (but in my case only) by not vaping a low srength juice, I decreased the amount of VG or PG or whatever, that I go through every day.

But the doctor probably should do regular checkups, though, either way I would think; a pack or two a day is serious smoking.

He's got a really stressful job and has smoked about... hmm 12 years or so I'd say. I do agree it is alot though
