Hello everyone,

I've been reading the forums for a while, but have only just joined. I'm new to vaping and would like to start, but am having problems with my Go-go carts.

The carts, and Go-go, arrived a week or so ago from one of the vendors mentioned on these forums. I also have juice from Velvet Vapors, all 80/20 mix.

My problem is that every single cart (2 that came with the Go-go, 5 extras I ordered) has a disgusting chemical taste in the vapor. I followed the instructions on how to fill the carts from these forums (excellent instructions for a beginner, many thanks!) and left the carts to soak overnight as well. It made no difference. Each cart took about 2.5mls of juice. In frustration I took the filler out of one of the carts, I could see that the juice had soaked in thoroughly and there were no dry spots.

I cleaned this cart, with the filler gone, and then did the dry burn thingie. It didn't make any difference. The chemical smell (glue, solder?) is still there, even without any filler in the cart. No matter how often I've cleaned the empty cart and done the dry burning, the smell remains.

Then I took a cart I hadn't filled with juice, and took the filler out of that one. Did a cleaning and dry burn, and cleaning again, and this one has the sickening smell as well. Aaarghh!

When I shine a light into the empty cart, I can see a thin layer of something white on either side of the central tube, on the bottom bit. Could that be causing it?

Do I just have a bad batch of go-go carts? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a different cleaning something I could try? I've emailed the seller but haven't had any response.

Thanks,

Tgirl

Have you tried the liquid in a different device? This may be a liquid problem. You should not need to soak the Go carts.... Do the carts have an odor before you put the liquid in them?

I had a problem like that. Got a horrible taste and smell. The vapor was persistent like smoke. I suspect the liquid was exposed to very high temperatures in transit. The trouble is, if you don't know what the liquid is supposed to smell like, it's hard to tell.

Hi Evilfrog,

I haven't tried the liquid in a different device, I only have the Go-go to put it in. From what I've read, Velvet Vapor liquid shouldn't cause a problem?

The carts do have the chemical odor before I put liquid in them. I took the filler out of an unused cart, cleaned it and burned it. It had the same awful smell as the carts I'd put liquid in.

It's the smell of burning plastic. It can happen from bad liquid, clogged coils, or dry coils. It's exact cause is unknown, so I hope you figure it out soon.

Hmmm. I've never heard of the cartos having this problem. The only advice I have for you is to contact the vendor as soon as possible. If you got it from CigEasy then wait till an hour after your fifth post and pm SSV2 if they don't answer the phone. Drew at Nhaler is usually quick to reply in his subforum if you got it there. I'm not sure who else sells them :)
I would NOT use a carto that smells of chemicals.

Wait... I'm confused. The smell came from an UNUSED carto, or from burning the filler?

Other standard trouble shooting questions: are you cleaning and dry-burning your cartos before using(this should not be done)? The smell arises AFTER initial use? You let the juice soak into the carto for a good ten min. after filling?

Sorry for the question bombardment -- just trying to get a fix on the problem :)

And shake the juice :) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/200557-shake-juice.html

/edit sorry I see you did answer most of this in the initial post (lazy reading on my part). One more post any you can ask in the gogo threads and get a lot more questions :) Do keep trying to contact the vendor. I really don't know what's causing this. :(

Yep, I did shake the juice before adding. Since the smell is also in a new, unused cart I don't think the juice is the problem.

I live near Toowoomba, Queensland. I wrote the vendor 3 or 4 days ago but haven't had a reply.

CigEasy (not the vendor I bought from) sells an adaptor that would allow the use of KR808D-1 carts, I've emailed them to ask if it'd work on my Go-go, and if they mail to Australia.

Thank you all so much for your replies.

That may be your problem (in bold)...

... I've been through many Go-Go carts from Cigeasy. I get all my vaping supplies from Frank, except juice. I use goodprophets 100% VG juice. I've never let my go-go carts sit for more than it takes to fill them. I put in 3mL, and vape away. I would try Cigeasy, as long as he ships to Australia.

Yeah, sorry I could be more helpful :(
I use the CigEasy adapters and they work for me, though others have had issues with them. They may be able to provide some insight to your carto problem as well.
Don't let these setbacks discourage you from vaping in general. Before you know it, you'll have all your gear performing to it's full potential. It takes time, practice, and cartos that aren't faulty.
