so here is what I found out with this rta so far. 1. if you don't have enough cotton it WILL leak through bottom air holes ( I've heard cotton expands but in my case it shrunk " I am using Japanese cotton") so what I did was I packed the shet out of my coil with cotton making sure the tails are long enough to go down the juice well. I then lift the tails up TIGHTLY screw on the first tiny cyclindrical chimney. make sure it is TIGHT otherwise it will flood your coils and cause spit back and also leaking. and then I coated it in juice to saturate it and then simply stuffed into the juice channels. then you simply assemble the rest.

I think if your getting a burnt flavor it is likely your vaping too high of a wattage I mean I am pretty crappy when it comes to wicking/ building coils in general but with my mutation xs I have never gotten a burnt hit unless vaping it dry and with the goblin mini I've never gotten a burnt hit at all. I'm vaping it right now at 40watts with the above set up. duel coils ( badly positioned and made imo ) clocking in at around 0.57 ohms. NO burnt hits produces flavor, produces clouds pretty good imo for an RTA compared to my previous builds on this rta.

downside imo not sure if this is how it is or simply due to my wicking but it heats up fairly quickly I like to take longer drags but meh if you go for a higher wattage you don't need longer drags and its easily fixed just turn it down.

most likely cotton issue i use very little cotton and fluff the ends slightly and just press the ends of the cotton to the top of the juice channels not down into it just resting on top of them and seems to work for me grimmreen does a good video of how to wick it and his method seems to be working so far for me anyways.

yours does not leak? every video I see has pretty much the same wicking short leads and all that but everytime I do that it leaks through the bottom air flow. maybe it could be because my coil is very close to the deck? what you think

another thing to chewck would be that the cotton is as far as possible from the air hole cuz liquid can wick up and drip to the air hole i do get condensation on the 510 area of my mod that i notice when refilling but a light wipe and it is fine but as far as enough to see leaking down my mod i dont get that with the way i described wicking it

yea i've had that issue with my mutation xs i always build low to my decks not sure why and it leaks pretty frequently

so basically I am not sure how your set up is a picture would be nice but the way you set up this RDA is you do NOT have it touch the cyclinder you put over the coils. if you do it will short out. so you need to make sure your coils are 1. close to the air flow 2. not touching the cylinder that covers the coils. lastly the way I wicked it is how this guy wicks it and everyone has mentioned above I believe here is the video



I had to fix my build because it was touching the cylinder and I guess the way I wicked it was bad as it leaked. if you watch the video I did the way wicking technique no issues. to see if your coil is touching simply put the cylinder on and fire it you will notice they are not glowing correctly it will either not glow at all or one will glow but only like 2 of the wraps will glow the rest will stay the greyish ( the color of your coils ). another tip start low on wattage like 25 and work your way up until their is no spit back. the build I had recently had burnt cotton at like 45watts. another tip idk if this is true or not but I used 3mm diameter for my coils you want to go smaller diameter as it fits into the cylinder easier and when you press them together it is simply easier. 3mm coils that I tried barely fit and often touched the posts or the cylinder so they shorted

Use less cotton in the coil and trim the tails of the cotton to fit the channels they sit in. If the e liquid cannot flow you will get bad tasting vapour in your mouth because if the wick gets dry you burn it and it tastes bad.

Use less cotton !.

+1 to all the answers with "too much wick in the coil"

I got my mini about a month and a half ago. I bought at the same time 25 feet of Kanthal and 25 feet of Ni200. I have been playing with a new deck build every single day (twice a day or more on weekends). Single, dual, parallel, twisted, twisted Kanthal/Ni200, various combinations of wraps and diameters, placement low/high in the deck. I've played with the wicking method in GrimmGreen's video (a chimney on method before cutting) posted above by @WhiteHighlights . With the chimney off I've tried cutting the wicks close so they just touch the juice channels and i've cut them long so they make it to the bottom of the channels. I've tried wicking the various length cuts i mention with just a few strands of the cotton in the channel and with the channel loosely filled. They have all worked for me amazingly well except for one condition ... when the cotton in the coil is too tight.

I've found that as long as I make sure that the wick can move easily back and forth in the coil (erring on the side of too loose is better than too tight) then regardless of wicking method i can basically chain vape my garage in a low visibility zone before encountering a dry hit.

I'm almost out of wire so my experiences above are based on about 50 deck builds in the last month on the Goblin Mini. Don't give up on 'er. When you get the wicking right this tank is amazing!!!
