Basically what people that have thought these things through are trying to say is this.

Just because your car will run 140MPH at full throttle does not mean you should run foot to the floor at all times. Something will eventually break.
1.4-1.6 seem to be good lower end # for eVic as to reports of many that will not fire much lower. 3.0 is about as high as eVic will go and produce decent results.

Even smart Mech modders take precautions very serious when setting up Sub ohm coils and they have far less parts to fail.

I don't see why it wouldn't work you don't have to do sub ohm vaping to use rebuildables, that's all I use is rebuildables and I usually stay between 1.8 - 2.4Ω

This would be a non issue. I run my RSST at 1.6ohm with no excessive heat build up. Heat is the killer in an APV with smaller wires running to the main connections.

I find myself constantly running 9-11w with my rsst now (ohms from 1.4 - 2.0 micro coil). The vape is great especially after I modded the vent hole to 1/16. I do think that the 5v/11w limit is rather annoying at times.

Yea with RDA we really need more power! thats why i got a mechanical mod.. EVIC is not satisfying anymore after i started using dual coil .5ohm

IT WILL WORK, i have a Cyclone with Airflow Control. works wonder with the EVIC just do a microcoil build of 29awg 9 wraps on a single 3mm wick i get around 1.2 to 1.3 ohms on it.. best setup you can get for the EVIC.. and fire it at 11W max power..

Actually, with an eVic the maximum power you can pull comes from a 2.27 ohm coil at 5 volts/11 watts/2.2 amps. At any other resistance, something will be limited by the eVic. On a 1.2 ohm coil, the 2.25 amp switch on the eVic is limiting you to 6.075 watts. So for the most that the eVic can give you, shoot for 2.2 or 2.3 ohms.

This is a safety feature on all good APV's.
You reach a limit where the unit says - I Don't think so - and it goes no higher to prevent internal damage.
Even if eVic had a 5 amp switch it would have to be internally regulated down or upgraded to handle the additional heat produced by increased power.
eVic is designed as an everyday avg vapers too,l not a Vape Wars Mod.

What mech are you using? I'm browsing fasttech and thinking about getting some cheap clones to learn and experience before stepping up any higher.

The thing is I really don't care about sub ohms, I'm perfectly happy with my Evic and vaping anywhere between 1.8-2.4 ohms... My Octopus RDA hits like a dream... I just want to go a little more advanced... If that makes since... Plus the Trident & Nimbus looks FREAKIN SWEEEET Lol...

I'm not sure it's the sub ohms but the ability to heat a rba can handle more heat. IMO, a little more heat gives me a much better flavor with most juices.

Sioux Mod by Chiefvapers (Philippines) cost like $90 locally (3900php)

@Bigdazz, that's what i thought too thats why i got my EVIC, i thought the vapor i am getting with above 1 ohm coils are great,.. until i tried full mech and dual coils.. HUGE DIFFERENCE and the FLAVOR its so much better

^this again! I know I need to experience this soon lol. I've read about numerous PI mods and a lot of the Filipinos chasing huge clouds! I'm more of a flavor person then clouds though. It'll distract me as I'm vaping and doing other things lol.
