Ok. I know I posted about quitting about two years ago but lately I been stressed out because my mom is dying,Depression and overall living situation. So I am trying to go back into vaping because it helps soothe me to a more manageable state (mentally anyway). back on point, I bought some 50 pg/vg 0 nic juice...just to have the vape without nicotine. When I inhale (or try to) My nerves go off, can't breathe very well and just feel overall sick. The feeling subsides after a few mins and I try to force myself to take another drag but afraid of that sensation in my lungs. Kind of feels like a mini anxiety attack. Back when I vaped fulltime there was never a issue until a friend died, lost my job and stress went through the roof. I experience panic attacks everyday. Thankfully I started to run/walk 2 miles a day which helped tremendously and had to quit vaping as the nicotine no longer helped.

Just like I enjoy drinking but also enjoyed vaping (I stopped smoking analogs in 2009). Can anyone here give me advice that will help with those awful feelings. I do drink a liter of water a day and do have a glass of nice, cold water when I try to vape. Lately I been puffing on it without inhaling, when you are low on money one tries to do with the best they got, you know? If anyone can take the time to offer some advice i would appreciate it. My father quit smoking for 10 years, went back to it and now I got him vaping. Guess the love of smoking runs in the family. they ALL do it. Also I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed and great Easter.

Gee, I read your post several times, but to me it doesn't sound like vaping is anything but a bad experience for you, apart from some stress relief.

Honestly, if it were me, I'd be looking for something else to help, other than vaping. You need to find some coping strategies to get you through this hard time in your life, but I don't think vaping is one of them. You say exercise has helped in the past - why not adopt it as a major part of your life? At least for now.

All I'm saying really, given that I don't know you, is that it doesn't sound like vaping is your answer. I do hope that things improve for you.

Without all the external factors, my short answer is that you might have to play with your PG/VG level. You might have some allergies/reactions to one of the juice components.

But, I'm with Rose - it sounds like you could use some advice from a professional - doctor, counselor, minister, etc. who can help you better process what's going on in your life.

That sounds very strange and concerning.

Maybe you are vaping on an old gunked up coil.
Or at too high a wattage.

I assume it's a new allergy. counseling is BS I been through the system all my life with little to no relief. I got new atomizers so it's not the coils. it's at 50/50.. Maybe I should higher the VG and lower the PG? I have never had a problem with either but I will try changing pg/vg levels for the next time I have money. I appreciate the care about my situation but I've been down the road of BS CBT,Antidepressants and it's all junk, never has worked but nicotine has but since I am on 0 nic and just wanting the feeling of vaping gives a placebo effect, I don't see the harm. unless I somehow/way got sensitive to PG or VG down the line.

First off I want to say I am so sorry about your mom. And i understand completely about the counseling crud, it just doesn't help some folks.

I agree with the others about playing with your PG/VG levels. I hope you can find your sweet spot because I know about the relief you can get from a good vape.

I hope things get better for you soon.

Hi 510 guy, I've gone through a similar experience with vaping and am staying away from inhaling. I use very little nicotine, either 3 mg. or a mix of 0 and 3. I played around with VG/PG and still had difficulties when I inhaled. So, for now I'm not inhaling which works pretty well for me.
Sorry to hear about your mom.

Thanks for the condolences guys. Turns outs that my father has torn arteries too, My aunt called me about it... This is the worst day ever. I live in Oklahoma and need to head up to Michigan. her oxygen is extremely low and they are unable to take her off the ventilator the level drops. Will be leaving tuesday. I won't inhale but still might find a sweet spot where I don't feel awful when taking a drag. Actually half tempted to start smoking analogs again. All this stress is just unreal. Not to be whiny and sorry if I sound that way. Didn't know where else to turn about vaping as this community is a great place with good people. Any advice is welcome.

I think it's either the stress you've been under or you've become sensitive to something in the juice.

If it's the juice it could be the PG, the VG or one of the flavorings. The only way you'll get to the bottom of it is to change one thing at a time and see what happens. Or start from the other end. Buy a small bottle of VG and PG and vape each by themselves for a while. If you have the same reaction to PG and VG by themselves then this is probably not it.

Physical activity is a big help in handling stress. If a run/walk 2 miles a day helps a lot you could try to increase the distance, your average speed or both to give you more of a workout. I had a few panic attacks a couple of decades back. I went back to the gym about 4 hours a week and got back to riding my bike regularly. That worked for me :)

Wow, things can really pile up on us sometimes!

Hope your dad is OK. Take care of yourself and best of luck with it all.

I am so very sorry to hear about your parents. It is so very hard to be far away when someone you love and care about is seriously ill.

While you are following the very good advice given to you here already, I would suggest that you try either valerian, chammomile, or gaba to help with the anxiety and stress. These are all available over the counter, and have helped me to cope with stress and anxiety. Melatonin may also help you sleep if you are having problems. I am not a doctor, but these have helped me deal with stress and anxiety. If you choose to use any of these, start with the lowest dosage available, and follow the instructions on the label of whatever you get. Please do not drink when trying these, and monitor your reactions. Be very careful about driving - I know that at my age (66) I would not be safe driving with some of the medications (prescription and over the counter) that I take.

Take care. You and your family are in our thoughts.

^ Thanks. Sadly The doc has found a hole in my mothers heart and my moms health is very poor to the point where they don't believe another surgery will save her. My father situation is a tad better...with a 80% chance recovery rate according to his doctor. I've tried lots of nature based anxiety cures and most of them unfortunately won't work. Melatonin USED to work for me years ago but now when I try one I end up with a drowsy panic attack, it's awful. There is a tea blend I use here and there that I like called "Sleepytime" by Celestial Seasonings which has Chamomile, cat nip, mint and other natural flavorings that seem to help once in a while. Gaba did nothing for me,Magnesium works as long as I don't take it everyday because then the effect of it wears off if I take it everyday. I do take supplements everyday as well. Complete adult multi-vitamin,ginko,fish oil and garlic. Xanax sadly is the only thing that helps me get consistent sleep but the tea along with it helps sleep come quickly which I'm very grateful for. Thanks for the advice and Elders know best but bear in mind that we both have different bodies. what works for you may not work for me but advice is always appreciated. thanks a bunch :)

0 nic is being used. I was once a chain vapor but then alot of bad things happen and developed anxiety/panic attacks..Had to quit but lately I am stressed and want to smoke something BUT without the nicotine. If I inhale I have a awful feeling in my chest which I never had before when vaping in the past. Got no clue what causes it. I've tried many mg of melatonin with no results. I used to combine trazadone with melatonin that worked for 6 months and was then no longer effective.

I agree with this post but.. perhaps take the exercising and change it up a little bit as well? Go hiking up a mountain, or a trail around your town? I don't know about you, but being out in nature always helps soothe me. Replace the bad with the good and I'm sure it'll help you get through this difficult time, I'm in a rough spot myself and I truly hope you get through yours.

Sending good vibes your way, as much as I can.

Sorry the more natural stuff does not work for you. I just wanted to throw it out there in case you had not thought of trying it. With me, sometimes it does and sometimes it does not help. Right now, it is helping. For a while a few years ago I was on prescription meds for anxiety when the naturals were not doing it for me. We are all different. Keep up with the Xanax and Sleepytime tea. You need to do what works for you - you know your body better than anyone else.

Did your doctor try increasing your dose on the Trazadone, or were you already at maximum when it stopped working? When I was using it, sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not. I opted not to ask for an increase in dosage since I am responsible for my grandson, who has autism, when my daughter is at work, and I cannot afford to be groggy around him.

Reading sometimes helps me relax enough to get to sleep. When I am anxious, I prefer to revisit old favorites rather than try a new book. Even if I still cannot sleep, rereading a favorite book helps me calm down enough so that I can try to think things through.

You know they also Have Extra Sleepytime tea that is stronger. It also has chamomile in addition to Tilia Estrella (gotta google that one), Valerian, Spearmint, Lemongrass, Hawthorn and orange blossoms. Fiance says that the Extra works better than the regular Sleepytime. Hope this helps.... I pray for you all during this time. I only wish for you to find some peace. Well wishes on you and your family.

Tilia is a genus of trees, its flowers are known to help with intenstinal muscle spasms, high blood pressure, migraines, and is a sedative as well. (I have a long history of intestinal issues)

Valerian root also has an array of benefits but most of the studies are contradictory, some show the placebo is no better than with, while others show that it must be taken along the course of weeks before its effects are working when regarding sleep.

I personally have not tried this tea you guys are speaking of, but have you tried organic loose leaf chamomile? Or other loose leaf herbals? It really helps me when I need to hit the hay. I'm not sure if the vendor you buy from sells loose leaf, but if it's not I would highly recommend you make the switch.

Tea bags and the like are essentially powder. Grounded up bits of the plants they derive from, "tea dust" as it's called. This greatly affects the quality of the tea and how much of its nutrients and oils can be extracted through steeping. Which will result in a poorly beneficial cup of half-tasty tea.

Loose leaf tea, steep it with a lid 5-10 minutes, slightly under boiling for herbals, minimum of 1 tsp per 8oz (you'll find what's right for you) and I bet you'll be able to tell the difference if what you have been drinking isn't loose leaf :)
