I've been doing sub-ohm for going on 3 years now, never had that problem, but then I don't use what you are using for it. I don't think it's sub-ohming that's the issue there, more likely it's the build in the atty, and how much power you are putting to it.
I find that a .7 ohm coil on a mech works just dandy. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. There are many ways to do sub-ohm, and some work better than others.
Toronnah, I am a "Tootle Puffer' supreme and use the Subtank mini. The OCC coils do come in 1.2 and 1.5 ohms and can be rebuilt to your own specs as well as building on the RTA. However, have found the Aspire Replacement (non Nauty) BVC coils work very well in the Subtank mini so you don't have to stow that Subtank afterall.
I still use EVOD tanks on eGos more or less regularly, rebuilding the coils to my specifications and they hardly need to be replaced, just re-wicked. That's about as simple as I can get.
I bought an Ijust2 kit at a vape store and am happy with it--lots of power--you won't need an 8 second draw on this device to get some satisfaction.....
Interesting to hear from you when you get the ijust2..........
I'm at work at the moment but because the delivery didn't arrive on the promised delivery day, I'm being shipped another one so not sure when it's going to be here!

I use Subtank Nanos with the 1.5 ohm VOCC's and they're perfect for me. I run them at 16w and I get good flavour and vapor out of them and the lower wattage lets my iStick 30w and 40w mods last a long while and the higher ohms and lower wattage means I'm not burning through juice like a car guzzling gas. I also changed the drip tips to the Nautilus style tips that have a more restrictive airflow.
Just because a tank is labelled as "sub ohm" doesn't mean it needs to be a cloud chasing high wattage juice guzzler.
