I was out snooping around in home depot, and found some nice copper tubing that fits my tenergy 18650 very nicely. After a bit more searching I also found some nice copper end caps that would also work well... I'll post some pics once I have them made .. Im thinking steampunk... Maybe??? Any body know how to curve copper pipe?

You gonna blow your budget Sean :)

Search the forum for several copper examples.

JUST DON"T MAKE A PIPE BOMB mod.

KNOW WHICH END WILL BLOW OUT FIRST.

(Guess which end I want to blow out first)

Lmao it is a toss up. Imagine sitting in a chair vaping and cap blows off and hits you in the crotch. Not sure I would rather take an end cap to the face of crotch.

all joking aside shots to the face is better left to the porn industry

Here's an idea given to me by a guy at HomeDepot that I thought worked in the plumbing dept but was really just an old homeless dude that was just getting out of the rain.

This is the Left Hand model. Note that it can be held so that neither cap hits anything important if the battery blows.

you can get some sand, a dowel rod, and pieses of wood. Cut the wood to to the desired curve, cap off one end of the pipe, pack sand in it as tightly as you can, and insert dowel rod. Next you clamp the capped end of the tube to one part of the board and use the dowel rod to bend it around the curve. Just make sure you have something to hold the tube to the curve or else it will spring back.

That was a good one. Had to think about it for second.

Lol that joke made me chuckle for a good 4 minutes. But no. The battery casing is going to be straight of course. But I was thinking of making an extended mouth peice almost gandalf pipeish but bendy... ... And copper... You know make it all "steampunk"

And would using a propane torch work? You know heat it up and curve? How do They get the curves in the brass for trumpets and other such brass instruments? Is the brass poured as a liquid into a mold or?

And thanks Quig I'll try it out!

That's where I got the water method, there's this TV show called "How Do They Make That?"...they did Trombones and that's how they bend thin wall brass tubing...when the curve is done, they then put it in a jig then stick a ball bearing into the hole that is the i.d. they want and then force it through with a bunch of slightly smaller ball bearings...to re-round the tube I imagine

They just mashed closed one end of the tube and filled it with water (oh, I forgot, it was soapy water, lubrication I guess) and left the other end open and put it standing straight up in this tank, I mean it's a Trombone factory, they probably have this special stuff, I just mentioned leaving a bit of expansion room in case you couldn't leave one end open and stand the piece up in your freezer in which case it would split your tube...but when the trombone guys took the brass popsicle out of the tank and put it in the bender they weren't all that gentle with it and it bent nice...just thought to myself, that could be useful knowledge one day, lol
