I originally started with a clearo, mini-Protank II. Had lots of issues at first but improved them with replacing the OE wicks with cotton. They are ok now but i'm going to the next step.

A member had recently suggested I try out a carto to address the short comings of my clearos, so I grabbed some tankless Kanger cartos and I was definitely impressed. They are superior to the clearos but my cartos lack stamina due to not having a tank. I plan on exhausting my current supply of cartos and get a tank setup.

I've looked through so many tank cartos setups that i'm left dizzy. I use an eGo twist on the road and an MVP at home. I'm looking for a tank that will complement my eGo size wise. Many of the tanks available are 5-6ml which look to too large. I will eventually get one for my MVP but need something more compact for on the road. The Smok Pyrex U-DCT v2 is one i've noticed. Suggestions?

Also on the subject of the carto's, both my mods are VV so the resistance options are yet unclear. Most say SR for VV such as the common 3.0 ohm yet I heard one user saying even at 5v it may not be enough. What say you?
Punched, slotted, flanged, not flanged?

I'd like some direction from those more experienced before I commit money to a purchase.

Thanks

I like the look of the smok udct. I mainly use polypropylene dcts from smoktech. The halfling from IBTanked is the smallest tank I know.

I pretty much only use 3ohm 3hole smoktech cartomizers ftom smoktek. I've tried boge and ikenvape. They just work best for me. The only PV I have that doesn't go above 5 volts is the mvp2, but with VW, 9 watts is ~5.2 volts. Lately, I've been meaning to get low resistances for certain liquids. 3ohms gives me less gunk on my coils and a cooler vape.

So if the MVP 2 is set to 9 watts it will go beyond 5v on a 3.0 ohm coil?

I just took the plunge into the world if cartotanks and have been vaping exclusively on these for the last few weeks with zero problems:

SMOKTech Pyrex DCTank Glass DCTank

I'm currently using Boge F16 cartos in them but the one that comes with them isn't bad either. I just ordered my first IBTanked too. Good luck.

IBtanked 19mm XL fits the MVP like a glove. It would be just a tiny bit wide on a Twist but not bad at all.

DCT Pyrex is a tiny bit larger OD than the IBtanked 19mm and barely longer. You wont tell a much of a difference because the carto is the same length.

There is also a DCT Pyrex V2 which is smaller OD but the same length. It should be an excellent fit on a Twist.

I prefer close to 2ohm +/- .3ohm single coil cartos on a MVP at 7watts. Currently i use IKV Fusion and SMOK 1.7-1.8ohm cartos. The 1.5ohm dual coils will work also at roughly 9watts but im not a big fan of dual coil cartos. The vape is warmer and they normally cost more. They don't seem to last as long as a single coil for me either.

Is this the DCT your referring too: New Smoktech Pyrex Glass DCT V1 V2 3 5ml 6ml Tank Clearomizer US Fast Free SHIP | eBay
There is also this one: Pyrex U-DCT V2
So many go by similar names.

The IBTanked 19mm looks good. If I continue to like this route I will get those. Going to do my first break-in with DCT's.
Ikenvape carto's are near impossible to get. I'll have get either Boges or Smoks. I do have a ton of of Kanger XL carto's that I could punch holes in but not sure if they will fit those DCT I linked to.

I would suggest the Skinny Phinny. Phiniac makes superior carto tanks. Their seals last over a year with no leakage and they give you an extra set with every tank.

I would use 3-whole punched carto's. I use both 1.5 ohm dual coils and single coil 2.8 ohm. Your twist won't handle the dual coils but if you move up to a better PV you might want to check them out. I prefer Smok or IKenvape cartos.

Here is the Skinny Phinny:

As long as you stay within the short circuit protection cutoff of 3amps, yes, and a lower resistance, like 1.5 Ohms, will be at 4.1 volts when set to 11watts. Having that same 1.5ohm coil, you can't go past 4.5volts, which is 3 amps. I haven't used any low resistance coils on mvp, so I haven't tested to see if it is actually 3amps, 3.3-5volts and 6-11watt settings.

Yes those are the DCT Pyrex versions im talking about. Not the UDCT version. The UDCT does not fit my MVP v2 with both the locking ring and support rings installed. I have one but i do not care for it since mine is polycarbonate and the top is not flat like the DCT Pyrex. I have no experience with the new UDCT Pyrex though.

Those appear to be polypropylene from the picture. Fasttech is pretty good about putting the materials used in the products, but they don't list it for that. It also looks like they have a large recess for their large flanged cartomizers.

Those are polycarbonate. Use at your own risk. I don't care about cracking, compared to BPA being leached into liquid..stick with the real ones or 1:1 clones.

I like the Smoke 3.2 single coil dual punched cartos myself and get them from IBTank...buying ten or more, they are 1.35 each. I NEVER vape over 4.0 Volts and usually start at 3.4 and as time goes on, I may go to 3.8 or 3.9........ Im at 60VG

I use IBTanks. The Phiniacs are great as well. As time goes by, only then you will know why the IBT and Phiniacs are a better tank..(the seals and high quality thick Pyrex tanks)

I ordered an ibtanked 22mm xl. I learned a lot from baditude's blogs on cartos.. I haven't got it yet but I have read that they aren't the fastest things to ship.

They are literally a team of 3, OCD, the Mrs, and the offspring. They do well with what they have. And it is worth the wait.

I just started using cartos and tanks, first tank was an inexpensive clone tank not real happy with it. I also purchased a 22 mm IBTANK, I love this tank the quality of the tank is amazing, the performance is outstanding. I would highly recommend it. I also have a phiniac on order that should be here saturday. Looking forward to trying it.

Well in the comments fasttech said that it was confirmed they are sending the frosted plastic although the picture doesnt show all frosted. I havnt gotten mine to compare. I use the glass with no probs, wanted the plastic for my son, just gave him my spinner and he needs some of his own tanks.e
