I used the drillbit method for.months but finally broke down and ordered a Coilmaster a few days ago. Still waiting but hopefully it will be here by Monday.
think you will enjoy it alot even though it can be aggrevating at times building is deffinitly one of my favorite parts of the hobby PS ×2 on the ohm meter
Yup - it's very rewarding - really - you can get a better vape, and you did it yourself!!
But - it can also be frustrating while you get the hang of it - a lot of people say "it's so easy" - but I actually had a hard time, and sometimes still do. The tough part actually is getting the coil MOUNTED on an atomizer.

This is my biggest problem. I actually just built my first coil for my Subtank a few days ago. Mostly out of curiosity not necessity and the hardest part was trying to get my hands to stop shaking long enough to get the darn screws back onto the base while holding the coil in place.

I would say the same doing the coil either with the jig or a drill bit is the easy part. Fiddling with the wee tiny thing on the wee tiny deck is where it took me some time. Just as @Train2 and @VCross were saying.
You will get better really quick though and it opens up great possibilities and there are so many good videos online.
Did you get the coilmaster stand alone or the coilmaster starter kit case @LadySueEllen ?

If you can wrap string around a stick while keep the wraps uniform and close to one another you can make a coil with ease.
Instead of blowing money on coil wrapping gizmo's, just use a machine screw in the size you want your coil diameter to be and wrap wire around the machine screw , when you reach the length your looking for just unscrew the coil from the screw.
Perfectly wrapped coil result every time , this is not necessary for the majority of people since wrapping around a drill bit is easy as it gets for most.

The jig is only 10 bucks and at least for me it is easier than using just a drill bit. The kit ... Mmm ... That i might not do again, the wire clippers aren't great, but having the tweezers and ohm meter etc all in 1 place is pretty handy. But still its not like the money i spent on those 2 isticks, that still irks me a bit.

my advice. dont fill a tank more than half full till you get the hang of it.
emptying, wasting, or vaping through a full tank because of a bad build sucks.
you should think you're an expert after 3-4 builds. then youll leak a whole tank while its sitting or something.
keep going though. it doesn't take long to get it.
