Goldpillar RDA Ohm question

Hi!

Got a hard time building this with a 28 gauge NiChrome 80 Wire. Tried with 1/8 and 1/16 drill bits, but higest OHM I was able to get was 2-5. Highest count of wraps was 12. Should I get 32 gauge, or just buy kayfun?

Mistake buying a brand new rda. Only instructional video on youtube is in Chinese or Japanese.

Why do you want to go so high in ohms?

Sorry, been up all night trying to get this working. I mean 0.2-0.5, but as I can remember it was under 0.2 and under 0.5.

Yes it is. Dual coil. Highest Ohm on one I was able to get was under one.

Could amp the drill bit diameter I guess, but would like a micro coil.

Yeah micro coils are tricky if you're not trying to sub ohm. Especially doing a dual coil. But the only way to get a higher resistance that i know of would be to either try 32 gauge wire, increase the amount of wraps, or increase the diameter like you said. Getting a kayfun would be a good investment either way though I know tons of people who love their RTAs.

Thank you. Good to learn that it wasn't a total failure, but that it's difficult in the first place. Going to bed knowing more than I did.

Saw a review about the Kayfun, and that guy didn't like it because of the hard hit, but that can't be common as so many love it, or? My wallet would bleed even more, but probably a good investment yes.

Well the hard hit was probably the build they were using. If you don't like the Kayfun for whatever reason i heard a lot of people are using the lemo RTA. Haven't tried it myself, but you should look into it if you're going the RTA route

Make sure to check your build with an ohm reader or DMM before putting it on your mod and firing it AND make sure your batteries can support your build.

Thanks, didn't think of that it was the build. Tempting to get one. Haven't seen the lemo RTA in Norway. Limited selection here, and importing goods costing more than $28 is expensive due to taxes.

Yes, have seen youtube videos about battery safety, and it should not be taking lightly, but IMR batteries can't explode (they say) so that's a good thing.

The other thing that I could point out is that you should probably switch to Kanthal instead of the NiChrome... Kanthal has higher resistance per length than NiChrome... 28g Kanthal A-1 would at least put you closer to your target resistance

Any battery can explode under the right circumstances... when going by anything "they" say, it is best to err on the side of caution...

Had no clue, thank you. Have to buy today. Iclear 30s isn't quite the same. The Goldpillar was prebuilt with 1.6 Ohm, so I know what I'm missing out on now.

The Aerotank 2 was good the little time the coil didn't give a burnt and dry vape. Gave up after four coils.

Why don't you just do 2 coils? If I have this right it's a bottom air feed through 2 holes so just make 1 coil above each hole that should let you get to the res you want.

I did, but but was too difficult making a 2 Ohm coil with that wire I have.

First build finished. 7.4 Ohm, 2 mm and eight wraps. The Bio Wick didn't fit the 3 mm I made first. It fits 2 mm only. Does it look ok?

Got a foul taste after a short while, and the reason:



Got help in the RDA-forum to find the problem. Didn't fire it before wicking it.
