I think you'll find that the taste alone is the best reason to switch over to Ti. It really is a very clean taste.....
Yeah I'm looking forwards to it! Just waiting for my dna 200 to arrive before using as I say.

Going a bit off topic but have you any experience with nichrome 80? To me I tastes weird, been using it a couple of days in my Goblin and just put some in my Goliath rta and if I vape it over 30w it just does not taste nice at all. Burnt almost chemically taste. Any ideas art from the ramp up time is too fast? I'm using it at around 0.2 / 0.3 ohms

1 close the juice control off when you put on the lower deck and it will open as you screw the lower deck into place. The pulse design on the ring shows the juice control position, the bigger the pulse indicates its open

2 I also ruined the 1st pre-made coil by not pulling the cotton down into the juice wells. It comes very bunched up in the ceramic cup. To get them to wick you need to pull the cotton down a bit so the legs sit in the juice well on the lower deck
1. If you leave the juice control open when you screw on the deck, it will stay open anyway. Why bother closing it in the first place?

2. I never found this to be the case. When I received mine, I popped in one of the included coils, loaded it with 99% VG juice, and the wicks have had no problem keeping up. Maybe your juice control was closed off a bit? Could just be some manufacturing inconsistencies.

Honestly My nickel experience is not great cause I went from building one nickel coil on my goblin mini right to titanium. One thing I will say I have only used it with TC. I pretty much used it only on a Eleaf 40w TC mod since it was the only thing I had at that time. From what I can tell the Eleaf pushes a continuous 40w in TC mode and you adjust your temperature only. Didn't care for that much cause battery life could be as little as 6 hours with major use. If I remember correctly I was vaping around 450 temp. With those settings the taste was not overly bad as you describe. Perhaps using Nickel without TC is not a good idea and can cause what you describe. Also, guess I should mention cause I do not know how versed you are in vaping. It is a good idea to clean brand new tanks cause often they can have a lot of machine oil lingering. Believe it or not it's also a good idea to clean the wire you are gonna use.......

Well I have never tried Ti, and my snow wolf doesn't have that option, but my sx mini m does. I might buy some soon .
I just did a little googling on the Snow Wolf and Titanium Wire. One person said due to the fact that the snow wolf does not detect Ti wire, he would have to dial down the temperature 140 degrees less. I just tried it on my Eleaf 40w TC which does not detect Ti wire. It works! I usually am in the range of 420-450 degrees. I dialed the Eleaf down to 300 degrees and to my surprise, it works. Dude, there's nothing holding you back, get you some TI wire. Here's a good deal on 50 foot...

Titanium Round Wire Grade One 0 50 mm 50 ft Pure Titanium | eBay

PS they sure were not talking very favorably about the Snow Wolf

I love my snow wolf. I have had all the ipv devices and some more but thr snow wolf is great. It doesn't have many features and temp control is off a little but for what I use it for, it's been great.

I have also seen people use titanium on devices that don't have that feature, but is it still as good? Because titanium uses a different algorithm to determine wattage and volts.

That's good that your Snow Wolf is treating you right. Some are so critical of these devices. You are of course correct. Does it work exactly the way it would with the nickel build, probably not. Is the difference noticeable? I personally am not seeing a big difference once I find my sweet spot. With a little more play I realized that different tanks were different (Course ohms were different). Don't assume 140 degrees will do it, it will vary......

Price good enough for you on the Ti wire?

I failed to mention that I do have the snow wolf limited edition, so a lot of the problems people were having with thr original were fixed with the updated version.

Ya I'll place an order for titanium today.

when i first vaped my Goliath i found by accident the juice flow thing was closed and i had no idea how it worked until I took it apart and started messing around with it so I left it closed as i put it back on knowing it would open again

I burnt both my pre made coils, rewicked one with my own cotton and burn it again. Not a fan of them but I prefer my own anyway, I bought this to use as a rta

nichrome is different than nickel. Nichrome was used before kenthel was the main wire used. Its soft, shiney, ramps up and cools faster and has lower resistance per foot than nickel. That means more surface area for the same same resistance, more coils, more evenly spread heat in theory. I know what im doing well enough, I wont pretend to be a guru but I would describe myself as expereiced. I use rta / rda exclusively, I make my own juice and for others. I dont really know what else I can say but im far from a noob. Bragging about my equipment doesn't prove I have knowledge in a field lol

That's good, you probably know much more about equipment than I do. Though I know a bit myself I have plenty to learn as well. I actually run a Vape Shop so I have to learn. I will admit though. I'm much better at creating juice blends than building coils. Actually it seems to be the wicking more so than the building of coils. Guess I have a little trouble hitting the JUST RIGHT it requires to not leak, or not dry hit. Live and learn I always says. May have to be hitting you up for info....lol

Yes, nickel and chromium (spelling) alloy. I have read about it a bit. Seems my eyes see Nichrome when I see Nickel, and Nickel when I see Nichrome. Don't they say it's best to use Nickel?

I agree with your view point its always good to continue to learn stuff to keep your knowledge update to date and owning a store I can only imagine the amount the advice you get asked! If you have any questions I can do my best to answer

About the wires it all really comes down to the application intended. Nickel is meant to be used in temp control builds and chromium isn't. They both have their uses but it seems some are sensitive to the taste and to me it just doesn't seem right.

Yeah, you better keep up with it in this business, it's a real fast changing business. Wasn't that long ago we were using single coil tanks on a ego battery. Who'd a thought 2 years ago that we would be using TC Mods and building Titanium Coils. Actually, there's even Stainless Steel Coils now too. ECig equipment truly reminds me of computers. If it's one year old, it is already a dinosaur. Well hopefully you have already ordered some Ti wire. That will certainly solve that nasty taste you're getting. I left that link above for titanium at Ebay but if you search Esty there is a jewelry company there that sells the titanium in different gauges which some my prefer.......

oh tell me about it moving too fast I know all about it! Iv heard of stainless steel c oils, 306 and then 307 for temp control. I would say your sort of right about it being like computers but i'd say its closer to phones and these days not many people would choose a 1 year old model. With any luck things will slit how down abit from here on but somehow I cant see happening

Nor can I. Steve, are you in the US. Reason I ask is cause the crap going on with the FDA. What I was about to comment was I do not see it happening unless the FDA shuts us down. But you know, even if they shut us down in the states, this equipment is still gonna evolve because we in the states are not the only people buying this stuff. As long as there is a market for it the equipment is gonna evolve. And yeah, you're right, more as phones are evolving......

I live in the UK, we have a similar law the EU are trying to push on us and I'm hoping our government resists. We had some good news recently when out government decided vape is 95% better for you than smoking and ecigs could well be prescribed from our pharmacy's from our national health service

Yeah, the word has spread fast about that. It's not often that we hear good news for the Vaping community. In the States the only thing we hear from the government is BAD propaganda to help the government justify turning this industry over to the Tobacco Companies so they can tax the hell out of it. Turn it over to the pharmacys? That just sounds like a way to jack up the prices to where it's cheaper to smoke analogs and keep the tax dollars flowing......

I think you could be right, I make my own just so long as liquid nicotene is still able to be purchased I'll be ok

I'm trying to stock up on nic cause we just don't know what will happen. Also been looking into long term storage for the nic. That's what got me started here on ECF. So you blend for yourself as well.......

Yeah I make my own juice for my use and for friends. I tend to prefer my own stuff over the shop bought stuff. I tend to use cupcake world flavouring and capellas

Got my Goliath v2 in on Friday. All I can say is damn this thing is a beast. Put a dual coil that came out to .6 ohms and hitting at at 60watts with no dry hits and flavor is great. I put a vanilla, carmel, marshmallow ejuice in there that paired very nice with a nutty brown stout ale and chocolate stout ale.

After this tank I'm gonna rebuild a spaced dual coil and see what it can do. Loving this thing so far. Zero issues, zero dry or burnt hits, zero leaking.
