Yet another noob.

I also ran across one of those "Smoking Everywhere" kiosks at the local mall over the weekend. Went to their website and ALMOST went ahead with making a buy. Then I googled "smoking everywhere electronic cigarette"... and wound up here. And, after reading reviews, I'm GLAD I did. :)
So, after much more reading, just purchased a 510 kit, with trepidation. Looks like this whole vape thing is quite involved: battery life, atty life (and the many cleaning options), the dreaded "new atty" primer taste, which e-cig is the "right" one, etc, etc.
Been a lifelong, unfiltered, pack-a-day analog smoker, so TH and "big vapor" are important factors, which led me choosing the 510 (for right or wrong, better or worse). Gotta get away from analogs though, so it looks like I'm going to give vaping a serious try.

Anyway, since it will be a few days before the goods arrive, it looks like I'll be spending a lot of time in these forums. 'Way too much info to absorb at one time. :) Thank goodness there's a forum, somewhere, for everything nowadays! :)

Elric, Got my 510 kit and love it! Learned everything from this forum and it can ABSOLUTELY take the place of cigs!
If you're smoking unfiltered, make sure you get a high nic juice to start with.
You're right about it being a lot to absorb at 1st, but I promise you, it will become second nature real fast and it actually tastes better than real cigs.
And, you can freakin' breath without wheezing in the morning!
Glad you're here!

Welcome to the forum and the world of vaping. As stated the forum and it's members are a wealth of information and support. Congratulations on your choice to vape and I wish and hope your share the same success I have. After 30+years of 2+packs a day of analogs and trying everything else out there to stop smoking, finding this forum and choosing to vape I believe is helping to save my life. Best of luck and Happy vaping!

Yes, very much looking forward to it. Bought the kit from Cignot, comes with a couple of little 3ml 25mg juices and I purchased a a 30ml 24mg juice from StriclyEJuice (can't beat the price, as near as I can tell). If I blow through these quickly, I'll probably looking at the 36(?)mg juice.

And, yes, I could read for days here, but can anyone give me a quick-n-dirty recommendation for a decent-price 36mg juice source?

And thank you to everyone for their comments!

Maybe I'm too new at this, but 36mg sounds kind of high to me. I checked the chart to see what I should be smoking, and I think it's off by 2mg or so, but it ain't bad.

Awhile back the FTC did a study as to how much nicotine is in the different cigarette brands. They put together a chart, which is really useful in figuring out what your dosage should be when vaping. If you can find your brand on and varient on that list (it's old, but it's got most of them), then you should be fine.

You should be able to google it and come up with it. I'm not sure what the link sharing policy is here for new members like myself.

Anyway, I was smoking Pal Mal Reds. Turns out, according to the chart, Pal Mal Reds have 18mg of Nicotine in them. So I ordered the 18mg liquid. Thing I'm learning quickly is that not all liquids are created equal. They vary like you wouldn't believe, even from the same supplier.

I got some 18mg Turkish blend, and some 18mg RY4 (I don't see what the fascination with that one is) from Esmokeytreats. The Turkish blend was much harsher. Had a great TH, and I liked it. The RY4 from them was smoother, and weaker, and didn't hit as well. Meanwhile I've got some 14mg Apple/Tabacco flavored liquid from G-4 here in KC, and it kills both of them in terms TH.

I don't remember quite what my point was, but it's there if you squint.

Elric, I should have specified... When I said High Nic, I meant, like, 24 mg.
You can use 36 mg and cut it with glycerin or No Nic flavors but I would
strongly suggest Not vaping it straight. Also, please be careful handling it.

Got my kit from cignot and juices from strictly e-juice too.
Rocky Mountain Vapor also has good prices on juice.

Welcome!
The 510 is a good choice, lots of people like them, I had one and it gives alot of vapor, something I think you will find important as a non filter smoker. (I did the same with Newports) Hope all goes well (I'm sure it will) and make sure to post any questions you have, people all over the forum will answer quickly.

I vape 36 mg. I used to smoke Kools. You used to smoke non-filtered PallMalls, so that's probably a reasonable place to start, between 24 mg. and 36 mg.

I spent a few weeks of misery, trying to suck the bottom out of my batteries, before I figured out that 24 mg. wasn't enough for me. If you can't put the thing down for a few minutes between vapes, because you're jonesing for some nic, the filler material in the cartridge can't wick juice to the atty fast enough for the 510 to work properly.

If that happens to you, order some higher nic juice, and in the meanwhile search for "dripping" (that's what I do), and/or look in the "cartridge mods" sub-forum here on ECF.

Good luck, man!

PS: you can allways cut juice down if it's too strong, or perk it up if it's too weak, by mixing it with stronger/weaker juice, so keep the stuff even if it's not working for you.
