Doubt it will work then unless you can drill it out to 16mm. Top is 17.8 mm. Then your going to need at least .800 " for depth or 20.32mm and that is cutting it close. Really you would want a bit more room for the depth to give you a little space to work with.

One last thing I thought of. If I got a switch with led or illumination, would have to connect it? Like if i didnt like it or something? But still use the switch?

Someone please explain the use of a resistor in an led circuit. I have several leds removed from various electronics and all work with just a power and ground. So why the need for a resistor?

Simple answer is sure they will work at high voltages but your going to burn them out a lot quicker without a resistor. Hook A led up to 12 volts and you will be lucky if it lasts a week.

The long answer would be all LED are rated to run at a certain current and voltage. So you factor in rated voltage and amperage with the working voltage of the device to give you a value of resistor to put on one of the LED legs. The Resistor keeps the LED operating at the LED's rated specs thus in turn maximizing the life of the LED.
