-eGo-C Twist 1100mah Variable Voltage Battery (black, wanted copper or blue but not in stock)
-
eGo USB Charger with Cord (can I use iPhone wall charge with this?)
-
Aluminum Vivi Nova (orange/copper)
-
Metallic C Style 510 Drip Tip (gun metal color I think)
-
Green Apple e-liquid (10mL)
-Amaretto e-liquid (10mL)
-
Kahlua e-liquid (10mL)

Total - $58.78 to my door.

I am a former social smoker, and have not had a puff since November 19th, 2007. I usually smoked during breaks from work when friends took their smoke breaks (1 or 2 a day), and when drinking.
I really enjoyed smoking, but always hated the day after smoking a bunch. I have always found smoking relaxing, and thought maybe this would give me that relaxation (hoping). The juices above are all zero nic, 70/30 PG/VG. I will never smoke cigarettes/analogs again, but still miss it. My fiance thinks there is no point to this, especially knowing that I will not smoke analogs, even if I do not do this.

If you guys have any recommendations to the above setup, or give me a yay or nay to start this "hobby," please respond.

Very nice! Congratulations and welcome to ECF!

eGo-C Twist 1100mah Variable Voltage Battery (black, wanted copper or blue but not in stock)

I love mine, but I have the 650 mAh because of the size. :) eGo-Twist is a great battery.

-eGo USB Charger with Cord (can I use iPhone wall charge with this?)

I hope you got the fast charger (420 mAh output). My advice is to get a wall adapter made for eGo chargers: Input: AC 100-240V, 50/60 Hz; Output: DC 5V 500 mAh.

-Aluminum Vivi Nova (orange/copper)

Nice. In the future you may want to try Kanger T3/Tabac BCC, MT3, or Evod. I like them a lot!

-Metallic C Style 510 Drip Tip (gun metal color I think)

Nice!

-Green Apple e-liquid (10mL)
-Amaretto e-liquid (10mL)
-Kahlua e-liquid (10mL)

I'm sure they are great. :) Taste is so subjective.

Total - $58.78 to my door.

Nice!

Good luck and happy vaping!

It's not an insanely good deal, but it's not bad. If the juices are OK, I'd say you've done fairly well. If you don't like them, it's still an average deal.

Honestly, a single-battery kit with a clearo generally has to hit somewhere near $30-$35 before I start thinking it's a deal. But I'm tossing in $15 for the juice.

The battery description is "This is the Fast USB charger with a cord for Joye eGo and eGo-T electronic cigarettes. This fast USB charger can charge both manual and auto batteries: 650mAh, 900mAh and 1000mAh Joye eGo and Joye eGo-T batteries. Using this fast USB charger, you are able to fully charge your Joye eGo and Joye eGo-T batteries quickly even while on the go."

I have not completed the purchase yet. This is the only type of charge they have, can I assume that it works with the 1100 mah battery?

Your USB charger is the right kind. Don't they have a wall adapter? Most vendors carry them. Where are you buying your kit, if you don't mind?

Hi! Welcome.

Without nit-picking over pricing that seems like a decent price for everything with shipping. Since this sounds like it's going to be a very casual thing for you this is one of the rare cases where someone most likely can get by with just one battery.

Regarding the charger: As long as the Apple thingus is marked something like "output DC 5 volts, 500 mA (or 0.5 A)" or greater it will be safe to use with an eGo changer. As a USB charger the voltage should be 5 volts. Your eGo charger requires 420 mA current so anything 500 mA or higher will be fine.

The only this I would suggest is switch up the ratio of one of the liquids the other way around to 30 PG/70 VG. That way you wil be able to test the difference that makes between more throat hit versus more vapor as part of figuring out your preferences.

One more thing: Once you fill a ViVi Nova you are committed to that flavor - whether you like it or not - until you clean it out or finish it off. You may want to get a dripping atty or a box of cartos to try out flavors first before you fill up your ViVi Nova.

I hear where you are coming from. Some people don't get the cravings ex-smokers still have years and years later. If vaping keeps you from smoking I think it's the better way to go.

That's the way I see it.

Well, if you haven't completed your purchase yet, you may want to shop around some more. If you're only a social smoker, you don't really need such a big battery. Get a nice starter kit with 2 650 mAh batteries, you really have to have at least two batteries. You don't even need a variable voltage battery either, come to think of it. You can get a nice eGo or Riva kit for ~30 bucks.

They do have a wall charger, but I just assumed I would use my computer most of the time.

It is not a kit, I could not find a kit that gave me what I wanted after reading this site, and watching youtube reviews. I was able to this together.

High Desert Vapes - Your Vapor Haven

I can add this charge for $3. A/C USB Wall Apadter

Or this one for $8. A/C USB Wall Adapter - 1200mAh 5V

You need the $3 adapter. I'm not familiar with this vendor, the prices seem to be fair, but I still would rather get two smaller batteries than one huge one. If it dies, and they do die, you're in trouble.

I wouldn't use my iPhone adapter to charge my e-cig. Those batteries do malfunction and you don't want to lose your expensive wall adapter.

Just my :2c:

Sleep on it. I'm sure you'll get plenty of great recommendations from other ECF members. Luckily, you're not a smoker, so you can do some more research before you pull the trigger.

Happy hunting and good night.

Okay. Thank you for all the quick responses. iPhone charger definitely will not work, based on what is stated above, but I am assuming the wall charger I purchase could charge iphone without issue? I hate traveling with multiple "duplicate" items like that.

Would this atty be a good choice?

510 Atomizer (Standard Resistance)

I am not opposed to two batteries. I am just trying to get get my first purchase from one place and keep it under $70 (cheaper is better). If I like vaping, I will definitely be adding to the batteries I own.

OK. I just wanted to make sure that you know how it works.

And here's a helpful size chart. Look at it before you make your final selection.

Hi again. Assuming your iPhone uses a 5 volt charger. The voltage has to match. After that, tne rule about all this stuff is that the AC/DC adapter must provide more current than the device needs you are plugging into it. If you got one of those $3.00-ish adapters someone already mentioned, and if it provides say 500 mA current, and your original iPhone charger says it only puts out 300 mA current - you're good. The new adapter it providing more current that your original charger. Your phone only draws the amount of current it needs, so having more current available than it needs is ok. Under powering something - plugging a device into an adapter that provides less current than it needs... that's when chargers over heat and bad things happen.

I hope I didn't over explain that for you.

That would do. (I see someone is into colors. lol)

Crap. I don't mean to be building up a shopping list for you but you need a drip tip to go with that:

Drip Tips

The point of that is sucking on a bare atty isn't pleasant. And it can become uncomfortable as the atty heats up. The drip tip gives you something a lot more pleasant to inhale from, it's reusable on attys or cartos, and it's good until you lose it or break it. You don't have to get anything expensive or fancy in a drip tip - but you can.

I didn't parse out the individual prices of the stuff in your shopping list - that's your job lol - but you should consider this kit at the same place you are looking at and compare the pricing:

1100mAh eGo Kit (w/Drip Tips)

For $34.99 that includes two 1100 mAh batteries, 2 atomizers, 2 drip tips, the eGo charger and the AC adapter. I think that covers everything except your liquids and the ViVi Nova setup. And gets you a second battery to boot. Going that way has to be cheaper than picking individual bits. Stuff in kit prices usually is cheaper - as long as the kit contains stuff you want/need.

Very similar to my setup. I saved a little money because I bought mine at a brick-and-mortar store that opened up not far from me recently. I hope the guy is able to stay in business! I have a couple tobacco-flavored juices, plus green tea. The guy in the store mixed them up right in front of me, which was pretty cool. Having browsed a bunch of websites plus the pictures thread on this forum, I know I'll acquire more equipment, but I'm extremely happy with this setup. Congrats and vape on!
