Thank you Katya, I will read the thread and study the findings.
I think there is a big demand for carto's which are safe, reliable and re-usable that can be used on 6V.

Despite the demand, there is no carto out there that will work reliably at 6v. Anytime you use a wire/coil wrapped with a clothe, wet or not, at the kind of heat 6v puts out you are going to have burning. Cartos are not designed to be used at more then 3.7v. Some people have luck at 5v if they are extremely careful in using them, but the carto itself is just not designed for that kind of use.

Back on topic, I emailed WordUp about the 808 cartos last night and never got a response. Hopefully Katya will have better luck. I want to make sure the ones on site are the SLB style with the coil instead of the wire before I order.

if you find one let me know - i don't believe any carto will work proprely on more than 5V

I have been using the Turbo carto's for weeks now without any problem on 6V. I do use them in the AFS, that way they are kept wet all the time and I don't have any burning taste what so ever. I am checking them after use if there is a burned hole in the cloth that is surrounding the coil and so far only a small hole is vissible. Still they are 3.2 Ohm and with 6V they give me the best flavor. vape and TH so far. They last around 4 or 5 days. I would like to see carto's with these specs but a bit better on the durability side and/or be sure that they will not burn at all....

I had more luck. I got an answer to one of the three questions I'd asked. The blank kr808 cartos have a coil instead of a wire inside, just like the 4081s (the prefilled "should be the same"). My questions about the ohm rating and the manufacturer were not answered. I sent a follow-up email, nothing yet.

Emonty, they are disposable. Don't expect miracles. I don't use them on anything higher than 4.2v and I still discard them after they've had 3-4 ml of liquid through them. I've taken apart every spent carto since mid-March and I tell you, it's not just the burning, it's the unvaporized old juice that accumulates on the coil and inside the carto that looks very unappealing to me. I don't want to inhale old caramelized juice remnants any more than I want to inhale burning cloth or polyfill. Basic hygiene. Unless you boil them and sanitize them between uses, I strongly advise against using them for prolonged periods of time. Even if you vaporize more juice on higher voltage, the goo accumulates...

But that's just my personal preference. To me every carto begins to taste funky after a couple of days. Wash or discard. They are still much cheaper than cigarettes. And I agree with you about the Turbos. They are very good, but, as WitchWay said, they are not designed for anything higher than possibly 5v. Possibly. If you're using them on 6v, you're taking chances and using them outside of manufacturer's specifications at your own risk.

I asked if they were made by SLB and if they had blanks. No answer, but sounds like at least they told you that they do have the coil instead of the wire. So that's good news. I didn't see blanks for the 808s on the site, maybe they are out of stock.

Katya, I totally agree regarding shelf-life of a filled carto. I have several filled with "other than my daily vape" juices, that I like to dabble with. They never taste right or as good as they did after the first filling and vaping session. I ususally have to toss them and filla fresh one. Disposable is the key word here.

Well, thank you, my friend.

Just what are you doing up at this ungodly hour? Mourning the Celtics' loss, perchance? :p

Sorry, we're celebrating here, on the left coast.

Thanks Katya!

Though I have never tried the (pre-racing stripe) Turbos, and havn't had a burning problem with the Cools from V4L, just want a little more vapor/throat hit. it's like when i switched to filters back when I was still a smoker. It's just not completely satisfying.

I will try rotating them. But today, I burned like 4 V4L premiums in no-time. All were brand new, with less than an hours' vaping. So maybe rotating wont help.

I think I'm gonna try upping my nic from 24 to 36. That should help curb my allegedly aggressive vaping style.

Salt, honest, premiums? Those low-resistance ones? You shouldn't even touch them, the way you vape. I burned every single one I tried when they first came out. Some fried after 10-15 drags out of the box. I never got a chance to even refill them; they burned with plenty of juice still left inside.

I get enough TH and vapor from my Turbos (and the V4L Cools), maybe it's the juice you're using. Maybe the nic level; good juice with enough nic in it will satisfy you faster and decrease the need to suck the daylights out of your cartos. It worked for me. I found that quality tobacco juices do it for me; I like a dessert vape once in awhile, but when I have a craving, it's tobacco flavor and higher nic. [And a little Swedish snus when I'm desperate:p]. What juice are you using? Do you like it? Here's an interesting discussion about some new and interesting tobacco flavors.

Vapor Station

OK... Vapor Station is for real... wow...

Yeah... Premiums. What can I say, I had been buying hardware exclusively from V4L, they made the switch to Premiums, and I bought 6 boxes.... here we are ;)

I have been vaping 555 since I quit smoking altogether (about 6-8 months). I previously vaped some other tobacco flavors, including Johnson Creek, but when I switched to cartomizers, I wanted something different. I like the Dekang stuff. I tried it from a few US suppliers. Dekang just suites me. I just put in an order for some 36mg from SEJ. 1 bottle of PG, 1 VG. How about you, my dear? Whats your poison?

Thanks for the links... I'll check them out! (EDIT: Great find! I'll definitely be trying these!)
Could you hook up a link for the Turbos you vape? I need to get some post haste.

Well, I never really liked tobacco flavors before, only 555, straight Dekang, and V4L's 555, until I tried Nhaler's Drewbacco 1. It comes in 24 mg or in HV 12 mg. Nhaler carries a lot of other tobacco flavors, but D1 is my fave. The Octane tobaccos have this cedarish/freshly opened pack of cigs taste to them, which I don't care for. I like his D1 and 555 the best. And then there is Vapor Station I just discovered. I've only tried Frisco and Phoenix, and they are really different. Complex and smooth and natural.

Ben at Vapornine is in-between shipments right now, the last one had those glued-on hard caps, by mistake, but he's in the process of fixing it. Probably another week or so. Check his website for updates.

If you'd like, I'll be happy to send you a sample of Drewbacco 1 and Plain tobacco from Nhaler. And I can add a Turbo from that last shipment, if you want to try it. Just send me a PM.

Man, I've got to try these! I'm ordering a pack now.

I've done the V4L Premiums and they burned pretty quickly. I've tried the SLBs with the coil at the top of the wires and they burned in a heart-beat. I threw all of them away. I'm currently using Rocky Mountain Vapors with the traditional wire.

This design looks to be the answer. With this it appears that we don't have to be concerned about any of the batting down along a wire getting too dry with this design. I'm pretty stoked about it.

Thanks mick!

:)

From the pictures & mouth end cap style, I'd say those are just the old standard cartomizers. While they worked fairly well, they never produced the kind of vapor & flavor as the newer styles for me. The premiums do burn hotter than the older style, but they do produce very good vapor & flavor. I have switched to the Vapor Nine "turbos", which can also be found at V4L as "Cool Cartomizers". These do run cooler, hold more liquid & provide very good vapor & flavor.

I hear ya. I too noticed that they appear to have the old style hard caps and the internal rubber washers. I'm assuming that the caps aren't glued in like they are on some other makes. But if they have the coil at the bottom then that is a big improvement. Maybe later they'll add the soft cap and lose the washer to make more room for batting. The suppliers have to ask for the changes and eventually they happen. This would be a good start though.

:)
