All over the place
^This is virtually word for word what i was going to write.

This should probably be in general e-cig discussion, but, about how much money would you or do you spend in a month on cigarettes?
Oh yeah, how long did that 20$ last you with the gas station unit?

I read 20$ and thought about all the different goodies I could get with that. But then again, I spent (in 2010 100+ dollars on Safecig) Wait a minute, did I just say 100+ dollars8-o

The twenty dollar one comes with 2 disposable cartridges and you can by sets of 5 cartridges for about 15 bucks. Each one is supposed to be about a pack of stoges worth.

What I'm looking for:
I'm not sure what I'm looking for but a few things that would be nice..
Long battery life(the battery on my pv dies entirely too often)
Something that gives me alot of vapor in each drag(a dumb request? maybe)

Like I said, I'm not sure what I'm looking for, maybe because I don't know whats too offer.

I'd take any vendor's concept of how many cigarettes are equal to a single cartridge with about 20 tons of salt and utter disbelief to round it out well.

Long battery charge life means a larger battery. Physics, can't get away from it. So you're looking at an eGo, Riva, KGO, or e-power. (I'm inclined toward the e-power myself.)

Alot of vapor in each drag would mean, to me, a low resistance atomizer or cartomizer to fit whatever battery type you end up going with.

I'd suggest you see if there are any location specific social sub-forums so you can see if folks in your area have meetups or meetings and see what others are using in person, but I've never seen The sky in the list.

BINGO!!!

Sunday I told a young buck that I'd help him with his eGo-T atty. Well, did a decent atty dry burn for him and he seemed pleased. Asked him if I could try it... minimum vapor, almost no flav and an off taste (deja vu of my ol' -T). Loaded up an eGMDDC and put it on his batt... hello, grin meets ears! He bought two eMDCCs and 60 ml joose... he now wants a tank...

If ya want to cheap out on vaping, then you're missing out pure 'heaven'. Yeah, I use more joose than some (maybe most), BUT I rock with what I got!

The 'laws of con$ervation' al$o applie$ to vaping...

There's also the "fuss factor" to consider. Some setups are good for the whole day or more, with others you're dripping juice in every other hit or so.

Some require cleaning, part replacement, or some other form of maintenance throughout the day, Others can go weeks at a time with just battery swaps / charges.

Some people like to fiddle, it's part of the hobby. Me, I like to switch flavors pretty often. Things like this help determine the best setup for an individual depending on their desires.

If you are quitting smokies, then get a good mod, REO, Precise, Provari, Whatever..... Just get a good one and a tank or a handful of atomizers.

Yes, they are worth the price difference. Yes, you will save money if you switch to something better sooner.

Better battery life, better customer support, better warranty, better vape, better options, better ease of use, better ergonomics, better economics, better............everything.

The math says good mods are better than gas station sticks.

Gas station sticks are great, and they introduce a lot of peeps to vaping, but they are not the best way to vape long-term.

Like another poster has said, a good pv is one that works for you and keeps you off the stinkies, it will also vary from perosn to person, I still love my 808's yet there are people that consider them an entry level and a waste of time but they work for me and that is what matters, you also have to look at your budget, the l;ast thing anyone wants (although I may be wrong) is something that in the long run is going to end up costing them more than when they did smoke and they struggled financially to support their habit then.
This is where I believe we are at a disadvantage with so few B&M shops, there are none at all near me, would have been great to actually go somewhere to try things and have someone go through things with me than having to either work blind from written advise and instructions or try and figure things from video reviews but this is how it is at the minute.
I would suggest thinking about what it is exactly you want from your PV and start from there, if you have any friends or know people in your area that vape, speak with them and they may be able to help.
I was the trend setter in my area so it was down to me but so far everythings working.

What makes a good pv better than a bad one? I've only smoked out of a twenty dollar gas station pv with disposable cartridges(never had a problem with it),but online they all are quite expensive. Are they worth the price difference? What's so much better about the kind that most of you smoke?

I'll throw in my $0.02. If you're satisfied with what you are using. stick with it. It's working for you. If you want to change something, you get into trade offs.

For a lot longer battery life, you have to give up resemblance to a cigarette. You can get a little more by going to something like a Volt but, if you want 6 to 9 hours, you're into ego territory. If you want all day, you're into 18650 territory. Neither of those is going to look like a cigarette.

More vapor can be accomplished more than one way:

  • You can up the VG content in the juice. That means moving to blank cartos, buying juice, and filling yourself. More VG changes the flavor and throat hit. So, if you go this route, you have to find what works there.
  • You can vary the temperature of the atomizer. That means changing the resistance or changing the voltage. The cigarette sized batteries aren't going to work for either of those solutions.

If cigarette sized is really more important to you than battery life, go with the Volt and try varying your juice for more vapor.

If the battery life is more important that a cigarette appearance, you need to go to a bigger battery. Personally, I would recommend an 18650 mod. You get batteries that are cheaper to replace and used on just about anything. You'll also be able to go all day on a single charge.

You are getting some really good advice here. Any pv that keeps you off analogs is the right one. But moving up to a mod is like the difference between just smelling your favorite food to actually eating it if that helps. I just got my first mod 5 days ago and apon the first hit I couldn't believe the flavors that were in my juice and it took me two breaths to blow out all the vapor. I was home:) I got this and I change the battery once a day and the juice every 2 days. I couldn't be happier with it. They also have a 15% off coupon code
